TOURISM TAGLINE OR SLOGAN FOR DAVAO REGION:

“The Rising Economy of Davao Region, Further Builds Up the Entire Nation.”

The suggested tourism tagline or slogan, “The Rising Economy of Davao Region, Further

Builds Up the Entire Nation,” is the most appropriate slogan for region 11: Davao Region. We

suggested the phrase ‘The Rising Economy’ in our slogan for Davao Region because the region

is renowned for its abundance of economic activities, modern amities, and urban buildup.

Furthermore, the phrase ‘further builds up the entire nation’ signifies that the per capita Gross

Regional Domestic Product or the value of each Davaoeño contributes to the regional economy

was PhP157,270 (Philippine Statistics Authority, 2020). Davao Region contributed significant

shares in agriculture, forestry, fishing (AFF), industry, and services despite the decline due to the

pandemic crisis. With that, it is evident that Davao Region contributed to the economic growth,

which furthers built up the entire nation of the Philippines.

Consequently, our suggestion is the most appropriate slogan for all the provinces of

region 11. Davao Region consist of four provinces namely Davao Oriental, Davao Del Sur,

Davao Del Norte, and Compostela Valley. First and foremost, Davao Oriental is famous for its

historical attractions, waterfalls, and white sand beaches. The unadulterated culture and tradition

of the Mandaya tribe are still evident in their day-to-day lives. Moreover, UNESCO World

Heritage Sites gave Aliwagwag Falls from Davao Oriental one of the most breathtaking

waterfalls in the Philippines (Arcadio, 2020). With that, it can be depicted that despite the

prevalent tribe, Davao Oriental has kept up with the rising economy of the region and

continuously contributed to the buildup of the entire nation due to its astounding tourist

attractions. Secondly, Davao Del Sur is popularly known as the Coconut Country. It primarily
has a favorable climate which helps them be an agricultural province rich in coconut, rice, and

corn production. The crop production of Davao Del Sur helped the rise of the economy as well as

build up the entire nation due to the prosperous agribusiness industry of the province.

Consequently, Davao Del Norte is hailed as the Banana Capital of the Philippines (Philippines

Travel, 2019). Exceedingly, it has many banana plantations run by both local producers and

multinational companies. Compostela Valley, the last province mentioned, is known as “Golden

Province of Mindanao” due to its vigorous mining industry. Their wealthy gold mineral deposits

can be found at the bosom of the mountains in Compostela valley.

Evidently, all the provinces in the Davao Region are rich in agriculture, mining, and other

sectors in the industry, which contributes to the economic growth of the Philippines. Thus, the

suggested tourism slogan, “The Rising Economy of Davao Region, Further Builds Up the Entire

Nation,” is very suitable and appropriate slogan for Region XI: Davao Region for it signifies the

significant contributions of Davaoeños in to further build the Philippine Nation. Moreover, the

slogan is somehow related to the existing tourism campaign of Davao City, which is “Life Is

Here.” However, our suggested slogan will surely symbolize the notable tribes, culture, tradition,

and flabbergasting tourist attractions of all the provinces in Region XI: Davao Region.
