INSIGHT IN RIZAL’S LETTER TO HIS COUNTRYMEN

It was heartbreaking yet amazing to know that he sacrificed himself for the
sake of his countrymen. His willingness to save them was immeasurable for his love
is great that no fear can make him stop to face the danger. He deserves to be
recognized and to be idolized after all.

INSIGHT IN ESSAY ENTITLED THE INDOLENCE OF THE FILIPINOS

Looking at the reasons why Filipinos became slave at their own country, I
realized that our countrymen at that time chose to be powerless and naïve just to
continue living. There’s one thing I would like to say: Glimpse of past should inspire
us to create a better present.

INSIGHT IN POEMS ENTITLED:

TO THE FILIPINO YOUTH

Until now, I think this poem still need to be known and be read, for it can still
ignite the desire to grow and be strong. Hope is an understatement. I would rather
use promise which can give us an assurance to continue our fight especially right
now that we are about to cast our votes to put another leader to lead us. To fight is to
speak and to be heard we must stand for ourselves. And when we have reached the
peace and justice that we deserve, let us remember to be humble and help others be
brave.

MEMORIES OF MY TOWN

It somehow feels nostalgia to look back to the days that feels so light and
peaceful. Those days that makes us missed the moment where we appreciate the
sight of nature is the best feeling we can have, Rizal’s sentiments on this made my
mind goes back to the time where trees and air was all over the surroundings. Where
we do not have to look for it. If only we became careful on every action that we do,
maybe we have preserved the beauty that the nature once offered. I just wish it was
still vivid on my mind.

RIZAL AS THE GREATEST FILIPINO

Looking at Rizal’s journey when he was alive, I can say that he fought so hard
to save his countrymen. What made him the greatest hero are not only his works, but
also his bravery, willingness to sacrifice and unconditional love to his land and fellow
Filipinos. His ways are truly amazing that it leads us to love our country more. No
man like him will ever think like he did. His works are powerful but him facing the
death in order to save many lives, that is more than amazing. To have the freedom
means to sacrifice.

SUMMARY OF NOLI ME TANGERE

Juan Crisostomo Ibarra who has been studying for seven years in Europe,
had finally come home to his hometown which is the Philippines. Captain Santiago,
who was his friend prepared a fancy gathering for him. At that night, he met Father
Damaso who he thought one of his father’s friends but he was confused when he
was treated by him badly. He also met Señor Guevara after the party who explained
his father’s death to him. Señor Guevara told him that Father Damaso has
something to do with it because he was the one who pinned his father to all of his
accusations. And when Don Rafael Ibarra refused to attend the confession, Father
Damaso ignited his accusations which eventually became worse because of a lot of
hos enemies joined him. Don Rafael died because he accidentally killed the tax
collector which made him go to jail and died there after Señor Guevara cleared and
proved his name from the eyes of the public.

Instead of seeking revenge for the death of his father, he continued what his
father started. He established a public school to help his hometown. He was warned
by the professor that Father Damaso tends to meddle in its system because he does
not want the students to learn Spanish.

For the time being, Crispin and Basilio work as a sacristan to support their
mother Sisa, who was abused by their father. But then, Crispin was falsely accused
of stealing. Basilio had to work even more. And when he tries to protest, they beat
Crispin mercilessly. He managed to escape but then when he tried to look for his
brother, he was not there anymore. And so did Sisa look for his sons, where he
failed to find them which caused her to lose her mind.

Ibarra planned to celebrate the new school so he was hoping that Father
Damaso will bless it after mass. Little did he know, Father Damaso ordered someone
to kill him but Elias, his once boatman to his pleasure trip, saved him. Not only once
did Elias tried to save him because once again his life is in danger. He was jailed
and he was the one who helped him escaped. They escaped through boat but they
then realized that someone is following them. Elias jumped off the boat to confused
them and he succeeded because they fired a lot of bullets on his part until the water
turns red, The real one escaped. As Maria Clara received the news that Ibarra died,
he black mailed his father not to marry someone she is not in love with.

Basilio tried to look for his brother and mother. As soon as his mother saw
him, she ran away because she did not recognized him. And at her second glance,
she already did but then that made her died from shock. Elias appeared asking
Basilio to put his body with Sisa’s funeral pyre. He died without seeing dawn’s light.
