 LOCATION the
Rome is located on the European continent, in the country of Italy, it is also its
capital.
 WEATHER
 Rome in winter
The coldest months in Rome are January and February. Minimum
temperatures are around 5°C and at night it can get freezing. In the daytime
the temperature is usually quite pleasant.
 Rome in summer
July and august are the warmest months of the year with an average
temperature of 30°C
 Best time to visit Rome
Although any time is good to visit Rome, if you can travel during spring or
autumn, since you will find less tourists and the weather is more pleasant.

 FESTIVITIES
 Epifanía- La Befana
January 6. It celebrated the day of the witch Befana, which brings candy to
good children and charcoal to bad children.
 Carnevale
It´s a week before Christian lent or cuaresma and the costume parties are
organized in different places. Children are also dressed up.
 Festa di Primavera
It is held in the staircases of Piazza di Spagna at the end of March and early
April.

The first weekend is held in spring, and on that occasion the per l'Ambiene
Italian Fund organizes different guided tours through historical
monuments, churches, squares and other sites of interest throughout Italy.
 Holiday of the Republic
2 June. Commemoration of the day when, after passing through the hands
of a fascist regime, Italy became a republic.
 San Pietro e San Paolo
On June 29 a Mass is celebrated in the Basilica of San Paulo Fouri Le Mura
in honor of the two patterns of Rome.
 Estate Romana
It is a show that condenses dances, cinematographic and literary events,
music etc. and takes place in the months of June to September in different
places.

 TYPICAL FOOD
 Carpaccio
This dish consists of thin sheets of raw meat or fish seasoned with olive oil
and lemon.
 Supplì alla Romana
It is a kind of croquette filled with cooked rice, tomato, meat and mozzarella
cheese.
 Trippa alla Romana
Beef calluses with a tomato sauce, mentuccia (local mint), roman pecorino
cheese and a vegetable stir-fry (onion, carrot and celery).

Potato-based pasta.
 Saltimbocca
Traditional dish made with beef (or pork), ham and sage.
 Tiramisu
Dessert made with eggs, sugar, mascarpone cheese, cakes, coffee and cocoa

 TYPICAL DRINKS
 Nocino
It is a liqueur made from green nuts macerated in alcohol, of dark amber
color viscous whose origin is in the Emilia-Romagna region, in northern
Italy. Its alcoholic strength is approximately 80º, its flavor is sweet, and its
aroma is penetrating walnuts. It is served as a digestive liquor after meals.
 Grappa
Grappa is a liqueur obtained from the distillation of grape marc; waste not
used in the grape harvest. Its alcoholic strength is high, between 38 and 60°.
It is also very popular in Latin American countries such as Argentina and
Uruguay, due to the Italian migratory waves that received these lands. It is
drunk as an appetizer on cold days to warm up the body and throat.

 Limoncello
Limoncello is a typical Italian liqueur, more precisely from the Campania
region, which is obtained from the maceration of lemon peel in alcohol and

is mixed with a syrup prepared with water and sugar. Its yellow color is
typical and is drunk cold, usually like a digestive after meals. It is also used
in pastries to give aroma and flavor to various sweet preparations.
