● The reason why I want to share this is because I love this poem for its relatable story and great
use of personification and theme.
● The poem can be related to everyday life as we would likely to experience being hopeless in some
time of our lives.
● I would cover about showing relationship of the poem and relate its theme to the current
situation amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
The poem depicts a stone having a tough fall into a deep well showing signs of being hopeless.
In our lives that we should always remember that life has it’s up and downs. In the society, currently we
live in a post-pandemic world where the COVID-19 virus is killing the lives of many. Discontinuing of
schools, closing of businesses and an overwhelming case of infections has pushed many to become
depressed and feel hopeless. A moment in our lives where all hope is gone, as if everything is against us
and still worsen by the surrounding situations but as said in the poem …” Don’t be sad. For though
you’re in the situation, someone will draw water a little while, someone will help you”. Someone will lift
you up from your downfall, someone will become the pail who will help you rise again. Our friends, our
family and loved one’s will always be there to lend a helping hand, you are not alone for there will be
always a “pail” who will give you aid and compassion whenever you’re in need.
There is a circle of life reflecting in the poem where it’s not every day that we will suffer from
adversities of life. Time will always come that we’ll surpass them with the help of others who show
compassion. Stay positive and hopeful amidst difficulties
There will come a time that we may feel miserable, but don’t lose hope for there will always be someone
who will come and save us from our sufferings and make us buoyant and hopeful once again.
