To operate the Gates Foundation,  a philanthropic company, fundamental business


principles are applied by Bill and his wife including return on investment, responsibility,
accountability. Hence, this way of managing a charity foundation is respectively like
running a business.

In spite of being a non-profit foundation, Gates Foundation was granted an
endowment of about $35 billion that includes the Small Charitable Sector Support
Initiative such as saving at least 700,000 lives in developing nations by way of
investing in vaccination, bringing computers and Internet access to 11,000
libraries in America, etc. Furthermore, the Foundation made grants of over $1.5
billion in 2006.

From my point of view, Bill Gates's donations are initiated so early for non-profits to
lower Gates's taxable income due to the law of the US. Besides, these grants are
for the more significant purpose of helping the unfortunate through their
tremendous influences.

In my opinion, he did not want his assets spent worthlessly after his death in terms of
"huge fortunes that flow in large part from society should in large part be returned
to society". In addition, he avoided expenditure on constructing a charity
infrastructure why he funded “an existing well-respected foundation run by two
ungodly bright people" in order to create a positive condition for mankind.
