ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT

Health is Wealth Program

SY 2021-2022

It has been two years since the COVID-19 pandemic has started. Since then,
everything has changed. Life was not easy but became more difficult as the pandemic
continuously hit the world. We have heard so much about the effects of the pandemic
in and outside our country. Amidst the responses and programs made by the
government to address the needs of those who suffered; many are still struggling.
Even the students from Sacritan Integrated School were not spared. Suddenly the
school which they called second home is not safe anymore. Likewise, their home that
consider the safest place for them is not excluded from the threat of virus.
Covid 19 is a serious illness the whole world is currently battling, but this
should not be hindrance from taking care of other health problems. Every one of us
dreams of a healthy and fit body. Yet many of us tend to forget that health is largely
dependent on a healthy lifestyle, particularly on proper food habits and proper
hygiene.
With this kind of situation being compassionate with others ease the anxieties
and pains a person is carrying. This compelled the School Principal together with their
Nutrition Coordinators of Sacritan Integrated School to unanimously plan a program
which aim to give awareness to the teachers by giving hygiene kit, by engaging them
in physical fitness which is the Zumba and a seminar as part of teachers health and
wellness,. It was initiated by the School Head, Mr. Garry M. Dubla with the full
support and participation of the faculty and staff.
Sacritan Integrated School empowers teachers to live healthier lives. Health
and Wellness Program began with the goal of raising awareness and providing
hygiene kit to pursue wellness daily. This program is committed to promoting health
and wellness in the new normal by providing teachers need in teaching which they
can apply in teaching. Health and Wellness also is a program that should be given
importance to reach all concerns and spread the wellness message or increase
awareness regarding health issues and the possible solution to gradually solve health
problems. The program will leave and “indelible ink” in the lives of the teachers. The
launching of the wellness program was held in the school last July 2022.
Proper hygiene practices combined with the proper use of PPE can help reduce
infection and the spread of diseases most especially COVID-19. And in order for us to
protect ourselves, the used of face mask and alcohol is necessary. During the first
week of July, 2022, hygiene kit was distributed to the faculty and staff at Sacritan
Integrated School. Teachers were able to received PPE/hygiene kit, which include
face mask, alcohol, and hand sanitizer. Each room was also provided disinfectant and
foot bath.
Another activity for this program is the seminar on health and wellness. This
activity aims to increase awareness of teachers on the importance of having a healthy
lifestyle most especially during this time of pandemic. The said seminar was held
virtually via google meet on the third week of July and each teacher received seminar
kit prior to the activity.
Physical fitness and Zumba lesson was also conducted every Friday of the
month. Teachers are encouraged to participate on the said activity. When one thinks of
the best way to achieve physical fitness, Zumba is always on the top of the list. This
fantastic workout grows in popularity more and more every single day. Zumba is an
exercise fitness program which involves dance and aerobic movements performed to
energetic music. Aerobic exercise reduces health risks, keeps excess pounds at bay,
strengthens one’s heart and boosts one’s mood. This extremely fun workout
incorporates lot of routines that improve the cardiovascular system, and beyond.
This program is notable and successful because the faculty and staff were able
to participate actively on the different activities. As the program title itself “Health is
Wealth”, truly our health is our best wealth therefore, we teachers, should take good
care and improve ourselves in order for us to do our duties and responsibilities as a
teacher as well as to our learners.
