Listening is an important aspect in Early Childhood Education. In the weekly readings

connecting with the child has been a central figure towards children`s growth and development.

As a result of the weekly readings, I have gained a deeper understanding and a stronger

conviction that listening to children's voices, both silent and audible, are as crucial, if not the

most crucial tools for determining where we as educators stand in relation to the children through

our modes of teaching and learning. Listening is not simply the listening that we do at school; it

is also the listening that we need to do in our everyday lives. Listening requires a sensitivity to

everything that links us to one another.

There are two ways in which pedagogical work is practiced. The project work and pedagogical

documentation. It is crucial to understand that the teacher has to engage and become partners in

the process of research and experimentation. The children invent the problem and search for

solutions. The work of the teacher in such a situation challenges the children in expanding the

hypotheses. The choices are therefore widened and fosters development. Involving "thoughtful

reflection and analysis" as part of the pedagogical documentation process is what makes the

learning process reliable. It provides an opportunity for families, colleagues, children, and

members of the community to be a part of the educational process by making each stage of the

learning process visible. The weekly reading materials are therefore significant since they have

added value to my understanding of how to handle children in a classroom setting. As a teacher I

will have to partner with my children in a classroom for effective learning .
