Week 3-Playing Experiences

Children's education is greatly aided when they can engage in meaningful play. Fundamental to a

child's future academic success, it can also help build their sense of self-worth. I played with

learners we were within our school while conducting our painting project. The children seemed

to enjoy the game, and I was very excited. Sand play is a game that I enjoyed playing with the

children. Sand play is an excellent opportunity for laying the groundwork for scientific learning

and building one's self-confidence and physical abilities. As a result of playing the game, I

learned teamwork, sharing, and social skills. My adult role in the game was to support the

children during sand play and ask them open-ended questions to extend their learning

opportunities. The most memorable part of the play was teamwork enhancement and sharing

skills that made me happy playing with them.

From the memories of my favorite environments, I had some of the themes described in the

article that best suited the environment I was playing. Working alone or with others, solving

problems, and resolving conflicts were one of the best themes, and I applied them in the play

with the little children to learn how they can solve problems and foster teamwork. When the

children play the sand game, they develop problem-solving skills applied in real-life situations.

When the environment is safe, children get the opportunity to play, learn, and explore. Towards

creating a sense of belonging with the children, I ensured that I interacted with them by

participating in and contributing to the sand play. Engagement also was supported in the play

environment by supporting children to explore the world around them. Through teamwork, they

developed skills such as teamwork and problem-solving. Expression was also supported in the

environment since children were free to communicate and build teams that worked together. The

well-being was supported in the environment, and the children's health was prioritized

throughout the play.
