Most domesticated animals have multiple uses. The animals and their uses, however, are
closely associated with the culture and experiences of the people who care for them.
Poultry production has become one of the most efficient producers of protein for human
consumption. It expanded rapidly because only 7-8 weeks are required to produce a
broiler.
:
This poultry industry concerns itself principally with the production of broilers that weigh
more than a kilo liveweight at 7-8 weeks of age. The income from this phase of the
industry comes from the sale of live or dressed birds for meat. Broilers are sold either by
the piece or by unit weight.
:
Customers here are restaurants, hotels, eateries and people of every means. Broilers are
tender, juicy and delicious. Many owners of eateries make a profitable business out of
serving broilers cooked according to their respective “trade-secret” formulas. Hence, the
Animal Science Club of Mandaue City Agricultural High School has decided to venture
into broiler production with the end in view of developing skilled high school graduates,
thus contribute to the economic development in our society.
:
:
At present, the average weight of broilers at 7 weeks is 1.3 kgs with a conservative food
consumption at 6 50-kgs bags of feeds for 100 heads. These average can easily be
improved through efficient management. Furthermore, our computation for expenditures,
revenues and net worth are based on the following conditions:
:
1. The building and equipment are constructed mostly of local materials. Capital
investment on building is kept to the minimum, otherwise, the cost of depreciation may
eat up the profits. The building is expected to lasts for 5 years. This means a depreciation
of 20 % per year is deducted to the annual revenues. 2. Average mortality is 4%. 3. The
average liveweight is 1.3 kg/bird. 4. Live broiler is priced at P80/kg. 5. Manure is not
included since it will be recycled for organic fertilizers.

Objectives (State here your goals of establishing the project in relation to: - students -
