1) What do you think are the importance of Ladinos in history and Literature?
-The ladinos were very important during the colonial period because they can
act as a translator and mediator between two cultures.
2. Why is it that in Komedya or Moro-Moro, the Christians always won against
the Muslims? How do you think the latter reacts to this?
- Christians always won against the Muslims, because of the influence of the
language,it also said native translators became fluent in Spanish language and
they are called Ladinos. In other words, Spanish language became popular and
the native are an outcast. In my own opinion everyone was very disappointed,
or had mixed emotions. Because they don’t want to believe, they feel
betrayed.
3) Name other personalities of the Pre-Colonial, Colonial, and Contemporary
Literature that are not mentioned earlier.
-Pre-colonial literary pieces- include Tigmo in Cebuano, Bugtong in Tagalog,
patototdon in Bicol, and paktakon in Ilonggo. Baybayin (to spell) was the pre-
colonial writing system in the
Colonial Literature - Some examples of American Colonial Literature include the
poetry of Anne Bradstreet like 'Bay Psalm Book', Pastor Edward Taylor's
'Preparatory Mediations' and, the jeremiads produced by preachers like
Increase Mather and Jonathan Edwards are good examples of religious texts.

1.How did you feel upon reading the poem? How do you think the author feels
while writing the poem?
- it makes me feel bad and unhappy, because it is obvious that the author feel
sorry for not being nationalistic of his countrymen. He feel sorry for them
because they did not know what drives them mad about their nationalities.
1. What do you think drives Andres Bonifacio to write the poem?
- like I said Andres Bonifacio feel sorry for his fellow Filipino citizen
because of their poor love for the country.
2. Comment on the structure and style of the poem. Are they still being
applied in today’s way of poem writing? Why do you say so?
- for me, the native style and structure of writing a poem in today`s
generation is already rare. Because living in modern society can make a big
changes in the way the authors write.
3. Look for some words that are not familiar to you. Substitute them with
words that we use today.
NUKAL - had sprung from
SIPHAYO - maltreatment
NIYUYURAKAN - trampled on
LUGAMI - fallen into suffering
LUSAK - humble lifestyle

The idea crafted in the poem is about an unrequited love. It is also about
sorrow,suffering,hopes and desires

IDEA OF THE VERSE

Verse 1- the poet describe about how good it is to be loved by someone,


because there is one to share your sufferings and pain
Verse 2- the poet hints that her fate is appearing bleak and hopeless and she
suffers because of it
Verse 3- the poet thinks that a relationship between her and her love is
unlikely
Verse 4- the poet feels depressed and down because of this realization, and
laments her birth to this world
Verse 5- the poet is immobilized because she knows that being lesbian, the
girl may not be willing to be in a relationship with her
Verse 6- despite this, the poet still proclaims her love for the girl as her
greatest joy, and says that she'd only give her life to her only
history of its creation

HISTORY OF CREATION
The story was based off of the writer's own experience of loving a woman as a
lesbian herself.

CRITICAL APPRECIATION
As a poem written in 1880, it is still being remembered and appreciated to
this day.
