Bangalore. Over the years, they have seen

weddings. As certified wedding planners,
they work hard to ensure that your wedding
day goes on as smoothly as you want it to.
About the Founders

SOUMYA RAGHU
Empathetic, rational and practical. She is enterprising and a stickler for perfection and
nothing misses her vigilant eyes as she plans every event meticulously. Her empathy
and connection with people along with her straightforwardness has made it possible to
build long lasting relationships with clients and employees alike. Her statistics
background and invaluable work experience at Ernst & Young ensures that each
wedding is dealt with, in a calm and systematic manner.

ABHILASH
Super motivated and energetic, Abhilash is the backbone of Taarini. He is always
brimming with ideas and has a solution to literally anything and everything. He started
his career in the Hotel industry and went on to pursue PGDM from IIM, Ahmedabad and
Event Management from EMDI. He has gained vast experience training under various
film art directors and world renowned Wedding Planner, Ms. Tania Tapel. His humility
and down to earth approach has gained him friends among his clients, employees and
peers across the industry.
Taarini Weddings launched in 2012 and during the initial stages of their journey, they
focused on Indian decor using traditional techniques and flowers. Later on, they started
keeping up with the trends with incredible pastels and western floral arrangements and
western props. In the recent times, they started a huge trend in the wedding design
industry being influenced from wedding designers across Asia (from Philippines, Dubai
and other countries).

My Role as an intern at Taarini Weddings Pvt Ltd

Being a student of Fashion & Lifestyle accessory design in NIFT, I was supposed to be designing theme based props which can be used and reused by
the company in their projects. Alongside, I am supposed to be doing set design, VM, taking the brief from the client and making the initial pitch
presentations. At last, I had to play a crucial role in the execution of the project.

Design Brief

To design a collection of tableware

decor for welcome dinner

After intense research, I sorted the collection to be a napkin ring, coaster and
charger plate. Since these are the products that add a great aesthetic to the
decor, theme and are perfect for the client requirement.
 Inspiration
Dahlia has a rich symbolism:
the flower stands for love and
involvement. It is a perfect
flower to express love. Since,
the project is for a couple
celebration, this is a perfect
inspiration.

Since, the couple loves nature, the entire theme is full on greens with pastel floral arrangements in forms derived from the
inspiration creating a magical garden for the couple.
Further, I contacted the VJ for the required video on LED screen in the backdrop.

ii. Range of Table center pieces
A centrepiece or centre piece is an important item of a display, usually of a table setting.
Centrepieces help set the theme of the decorations and bring extra decorations to the room. A
centrepiece also refers to any central or important object in a collection of items.

Traditional types for the very formal dining table include the epergne, with branching arms
ending in bowls, and the surtout de table, in English reserved for a long tray, often with mirrors
as the surface, on which candles, sculptures and other objects are placed.

On the table, a centrepiece is a central object which serves a decorative purpose. However,
centrepieces are often not too large, to avoid difficulty with visibility around the table and to
allow for the easier serving of dishes.

Centrepieces are a major part of the decoration for a wedding reception, being used widely at
wedding receptions with flowers being the most popular form of centrepieces. Weddings, baby
showers, engagement parties, anniversary parties and birthdays often have some form of
centrepiece.

Formal functions in Europe can sometimes have very elaborate centrepieces, which can span
the entire length of the table.

Design Brief

Design a traditional outlook for baby shower. Choose a colour

palette that goes with Indian traditional theme. Design a
stage and other elements on the backdrop. Also design
welcome signs according to the theme, using the existing
props in the inventory. However, you can explore on the
backdrop fabrication.
