 As technology advances we see
that it began to play a bigger role
in the classroom as well as outside
the classroom. Therefore it is
important to show our students
how to have positive digital
introductions.
How do we do this?
By Promoting
1. Digital access
2. Digital commerce
3. Digital communication and collaboration
4. Digital etiquette
5. Digital fluency or literacy
6. Digital health and welfare
7. Digital law
8. Digital rights and responsibilities
9. Digital security and privacy
 What does this
mean?
This means that we are
required to help our students
understand the rules that take
place while using technology
responsibly. Things such as the
amount they spend on the
internet, negotiation, sharing
information, the freedom and
responsibility that comes with
the internet as well as our
security.
 THINK is a helpful acronym when discussing
digital privacy. We should wonder is the
information true, helpful, inspiring,
necessary or kind? If not, then it's probably
not appropriate. Remember, that students,
teachers and parents need to have
technological etiquette. It is important to use
these resources with responsibility,
respectfulness and safety.

It is a demonstration of
responsible and appropriate
behaviors that enable students
to express their opinions as
well as allowing them to
communicate with others and
figure out what is real,fake and
safe.
 Parents and teachers are
encouraged to teach their

Remember that social media
can also impact the

Therefore as educators it is
our duty to teach good digital
etiquette to our kids and how
to navigate technology
properly.

being a student and overall
a person on the internet. It
is essential that we show
our students how to
properly and safely
navigate the online world.

for young
children
 Digital awareness is important
even for the youngest kids. In
today's modern world, children

have access to a variety of

devices as well as the internet.
Therefore it is essential for our
children to be knowledgeable
about protecting their privacy as
well as others.
 As helpful as technology is,
there is also a harmful side
which includes cyber bullying,
explicit content and strangers.
Now, how do we teach our young
children digital citizenship?
Allowing them to inform us of
what they do/post (teacher and
parents)
Being respectful and kind
Report cyber building
Being honest and open
Listening to good commentary
Remember
Teach our children even
the youngest ones how to
be a good digital citizen.
