Types of Network

 PAN (Personal Area Network)


(Personal Area Network) it is owned by an individual with limited range to the individual. it is also used to connect laptops,
printers, and more. it is the interconnection of information technology devices within the range of a person.

Example: The connection between a Bluetooth earpiece and a smartphone.

 LAN (Local Area Network)

(Local Area Network) is a type of network that connects computers in a limited range of areas such as schools, and office
buildings. Ethernet and WI-FI are the most commonly used technologies in local area networks.

 MAN (Metropolitan Area Network)


(Metropolitan area network) is a computer network that has a wider range than LAN. This type of network is large than a
LAN, which is mostly limited to a single building or site. It has coverage that could cover an entire city depending upon the
type of configuration.
WAN (Wide Area Network)

LANs are often connected to WANs, for example, a school network could be connected to the Internet. WANs can be
connected using the Internet, by satellite links.

WLAN

WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) helps you to link single or multiple devices using wireless communication within a limited
area like a home, school, or office building. It gives users the ability to move around within a local coverage area.

Examples: Mobile hotspot and Wi-Fi
