COMPUTER NETWORK,
Is a group of computers connected together to share resources

WAN
A wide-area network (WAN) is a computer network that connects smaller networks.
Since WANs are not tied to a specific location, they allow localized networks to
communicate with one another across great distances.
EXAMPLE
A bank, including its branch offices and ATM machines, is another
example of an organization using a WAN.
pan
Personal Area Network (PAN): It is an interconnection of personal technology devices to
communicate over a short distance, which is less than 33 feet or 10 meters or within the range
of an individual person, typically using some form of wireless technologies.

EXAMPLE
One of the most common real-world examples of a PAN is the connection between a Bluetooth
earpiece and a smartphone. PANs can also connect laptops, tablets, printers, keyboards, and
other computerized devices.

LAN
A local area network (LAN) consists of a series of computers linked together to form a network
in a circumscribed location. The computers in a LAN connect to each other via TCP/IP ethernet
or Wi-Fi.

EXAMPLE
A local area network (LAN) is a network contained within a small geographic area, usually within
the same building. Home WiFi networks and small business networks are common examples of
LANs.

CAN
What is a campus area network (CAN)? A campus area network (CAN) is a computer network
that spans a limited geographic area. CANs interconnect multiple local area networks (LAN)
within an educational or corporate campus. Most CANs connect to the public Internet.

EXAMPLE
Examples include elementary schools, university campuses, and corporate buildings. A campus
area network is larger than a local area network LAN since it may span multiple buildings within
a specific area.

MAN
A metropolitan area network (MAN) is a computer network that is larger than a single building
local area network (LAN) but is located in a single geographic area that is smaller than a wide
area network (WAN).

EXAMPLE
 Cable TV network.
 Telephone networks providing high-speed DSL lines.
 IEEE 802.16 or WiMAX, that provides high-speed broadband access with
Internet connectivity to customer premises.

INTERNENT OF WWW
WWW means World Wide Web
The World Wide Web -- also known as the web, WWW or W3 -- refers to all the public websites
or pages that users can access on their local computers and other devices through the internet.
These pages and documents are interconnected by means of hyperlinks that users click on for
information.
TYPES OF WWW
Deep web
Dark web
Surface web
The world wide web provides features like Hyper Text Information System, Cross-Platform,
Distributed, open standards, open-source, etc.
WHY THE WEB WORKS. The three protocols Berners-Lee developed are Hypertext Markup
Language (HTML), Uniform Resource Locator (URL), and Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP).
Protocols are formats or sets of rules that computers use when they command
