Author’s Feeling

Poetry is a literature work that full of meaning and message. Determining poem’s structures is

quite difficult to conduct. As a researcher, analyzing the elements of poem cannot be done as we

like but it essential to do. According to Professor Mursal Esten in his book entitled “Memahami

Puisi”, there are several points to do for understanding poetry such as paying attention to the

connotation words, looking the rhyme and trying to paraphrase the poetry. Based on it, we were

establishing the author feeling in the “Gus Baha Noer Salim, Adik Kandung Kiyai Nazirul

Mahasin”. The researchers found that according to poem, the author had grateful and happy

feeling. It pointed out with Alhamdulillah utterance in the first line. Moreover, it was also seen in

the blessing words and the prayer phrases in the last line.
