ABSTRACT

Allium sativum also known as garlic is the main ingredient

of this study. It will help those individuals that has problems
with their visible scar. This study will show that garlic is really
an antiseptic herbal plants and aloe Vera is a plant use as
moisturizer that will help lessen scar visibility. The garlic
combine with baking soda and aloe vera extract, lemon
extract, VCO (virgin coconut oil) and lemon oil is the mixture
use as the natural scar minimizer. This mixture makes the
scar looks new at the first application. Redness may occur
around the area of the scar then later it will dry. After it dries,
wash it with clean water.
INTRODUCTION

As we are thinking of a study, which we have to make as our

investigatory project, we overheard some girls talking about
their scar which is darker than the usual. As we think about
it. We came up with an idea, to make a scar minimizer. This
scar minimizer is to at least minimize the scar in our body.
This scar minimizer have the main ingredient of Grlic (allium
sativum) and aloe vera extract.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM/OBJECTIVES

Mainly, we are going to conduct this study to make a product

that will/can minimize the scars, which may lower the
confidence of an individual. Specifically, this is to know:

*if garlic (Allium sativum) and aloe vera extract are effective
and can minimize or lessen scar visibility.

*to be able to produce less cost and more natural scar

minimizer.

*to know if the scar minimizer took time to reduce scar in a

week
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE
STUDY

The study helps people to alleviate individual’s low self-

confidence due to visibility of scars on their skin. By the
presence of garlic and aloe vera extract combine together
makes a natural scar minimizer that could only lessen the
scar visibility. It was actually really works on scar. It was
tested on fresh new and old scar. For new scars, it was
decided to test for seven days. For only three days, you can
already see the result is better. It lessens the visibility of the
scar and also disinfect and helps the wounds heal in just a
few days. And in the presence of aloe vera extract, it
moisturizes and helps to regenerate the skin. It took more
days for old scar.
HYPOTHESIS

The study target individual that has problem with scar. They
can actually make their own mixture base on our experiment.
It is easy, convenient and all natural ingredient. You can be
sure that there is no harmful effect on doing this mixture. This
product will help lessen/minimize the visibility of the scar from
the skin and also disinfect the wound.
SCOPE AND LIMITATION

The study aims to manifest the effect of the natural scar

minimizer applied and the time it took the persons scar to
lessen its visibility, to be able to derive a conclusion whether
the product lessen the scar visibility for one week. This also
involves the time, tools, techniques and the availability of all
the materials to be use. In making the mixture, you will need
aloe vera plant for the extract, garlic clove or powder, natural
oil, lemon, and baking soda. And to make the mixture smell
good, you can use lemon oil or any essence you like. After
making the mixture, put it in refrigerator to turn the mixture
into cream base.

In making the mixture, we have to be sure that the

ingredients are clean and can still be used for the next 7days.

The study is only limited to the extraction of aloe vera leaves

and garlic bulb. This experiment will last for a week. In making
the mixture, the color it produces is brown. And when days
passed, it will produce oil which we can use for wound for fast
healing.
REVIEW OF RELATED LITIRATURE

GARLIC

Garlic has many benefits to our health. This not only an

ingredient for cooking but also for medication because it is
one of the most common herbal plants we can find in our
home.

Garlic is a plant in the allium family. Allium means “Onion”.

Each segment of a garlic bulb is called a CLOVE. There are
about 10-20 cloves in a single bulb.

11 PROVEN HEALTH BENEFITS OF ALLIUM (GARLIC)

1. Garlic Grams Contains Compound with Potent Medicinal

Properties.
Garlic is a plant in the onion family that’s grown for
distinctive taste and health benefits. It contains sulfur
compounds, which are believed to bring some of the
health benefits. Compound includes are diallyl disulfide,
s- allyl cysteine and allicin. Allicin is the most famous of
those compound. Allicin is an unstable compound that is
only
briefly present in fresh garlic after it’s been chopped or
crushed.

Garlic is low in calories and rich in nutrients. The
following are some of the vitamins and mineral found in
garlic:

evergreen perennial. It originates from the Arabian Peninsula
but grows wild in tropical climates around the world and is
cultivated for agricultural and medical uses. Aloe Vera
sometimes described as a “wonder plant”, is a short stemmed
shrub. Aloe is a genus that contains more than 500 species of
flowering succulent plants. Many aloes occur naturally in North
Africa. It is cultivated worldwide, primarily as a crop for “Aloe
gel” which comes from leaf. Aloe Vera is widely used today in
food – it is approved by the FDA as flavouring, it is also used in
cosmetics, food supplements and herbal remedies.

every day until the scar reduces.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

The study achieved its objective to lessen scar visibility for

one week. By applying the mixture on the wound to avoid
irritation, in three days the scar reduced its visibility and the
wound slightly healed. On the fifth day, the wound has healed
