Way back in 2019, I was employed in a company that had a variety of businesses.

The company
owns a self-proclaimed resort here in Puerto Princesa City. I remember, it was a lovely summer
day we had a couple of guests at that time. Everyone was busy attending to our guests and, to our
surprise, we ran out of water supply. We panicked because even our water tanks are emptied,
there we blurted out "We have a water crisis". It was embarrassing because we can't do anything
about it and the guests were furious about it. We called our local water supply Water District and
complained of the water issue, and their only solution at that time was to wait for the water truck.
Guess what time it arrived? Midnight! it was not the first time it happened it went go for a long
time. So I say that the very reason why we came up with this research is through "shared-
experienced".
As an experienced traveler, water plays an important role when traveling. It is essential in every
aspect of a human being to use water.
From drinking, bathing, washing, and cooking food. Water is present almost everywhere.
According to 2nd world water forum. "Water is everybody's business"

And it is our business to understand about water crisis and how to manage it, and that is why we
came up with our research on “Water Crisis Management of Accommodations in Puerto Princesa
City, Palawan”

CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

 "There is a water crisis today. But the crisis is not about having too little water to satisfy our
needs. It is a crisis of managing water so badly that billions of people - and the environment
- suffer badly."    World water vision report.
 "Water is everybody's business" was one the key messages of the 2nd world water forum.
 Whatever the use of freshwater (agriculture, industry, domestic use), huge saving of water
and improving of water management is possible.

 Water crisis
 While the world's population tripled in the 20th century, the use of renewable water
resources has grown six-fold. Within the next fifty years, the world population will increase
by another 40 to 50 %. this population growth - coupled with industrialization and
urbanization - will result in an increasing demand for water and will have serious
consequences on the environment. (World water council, 2020).
 The TOURISM INDUSTRY area is a significant procurer of water, particularly well-known
traveler oppositions, placing additional weight on water assets in areas previously
experiencing some type of water crisis. The partners in the tourism industry are
unconscious of the fact that it is so essential to moderate the usage of water.

Background of the Study

 Puerto Princesa City, Palawan is one of the most visited places in the Philippines.
 As NEW DEVELOPMENTS come in like INFRASTRACTURES it means more water supply will
be needed for numerous services.
 The Puerto Princesa City Water District (PPCWD) has authoritatively positioned the city
submerged crisis alert level 3 because of a notable decrease in the water supply (Ganacial,
2019).
 This research aims to examine the USAGE of water in the tourism industry area to feature
how significant the issue of water crisis is to its extent.
 Water and Tourism Industry improvement requires a DEPENDABLE stockpile of GOOD
QUALITY WATER.
 Tourism Industry is a significant water source in specific places and adds to water crisis and
water quality impedance with of course social, monetary, and natural implications.

Statement of the Problem

 Water crisis in Puerto Princesa City has drastically affected the entire local area sooner than
usually anticipated. El Nino or dry season in the Philippines generally happens during
march, the beginning of the late spring season. Notwithstanding, during the year 2018,
water crisis has expanded, as numerous spots have been affected seriously. From a
standard 1-2hour water interference, it went as long as a day or most exceedingly terrible
few days of not having an inventory of water. In recent years, the local area is confronting a
difficulty that has not been settled as of not long ago.
 Thus, this study aims to answer the following:

1.)What are the factors that cause the water crisis in accommodations in Puerto Princesa
City?

 A.) Environmental factors

 B.) Social factors

2. )What is the level of impact of the water crisis in the tourism industry at Puerto Princesa City?
3.)How do accommodations in Puerto Princesa City respond to water crisis management?
4.)What are the actions taken by the accommodations at Puerto Princesa City on the water crisis?
Significance of the Study

 This study shows the water crisis management on accommodations and tourism, which
could affect business accommodations and tourism in Puerto Princesa City.
 This study is considered crucial to the following sectors of society:

1. In the tourism industry.

2. City Tourism Office.

4. Future Researchers.

Scope and Delimitation of the Study

concentrate on mid-scale capacities as respondents for this study. Location-wise, this study
will only focus on Rizal Avenue, Puerto Princesa City Palawan.

CHAPTER 2
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

 Water crisis and tourism industry

 While global data appears to confirm this trend, average figures around 350
liters/tourist/day may mask different realities at regional and local scales (gössling et al.,
2015).
 Contributions of tourism to water consumption may be small at a global scale but
significant at other scales such as coastal areas and small islands, which substantial part of
world tourist courses (gössling et al., 2015).
 "The tourism industry in Bali at the interface of resource conflicts, water crisis, and security
threat," as indicated by Benge and Neef (2018) The dynamic creation of Bali as indonesia's
excellent tourism industry objective put extraordinary tension ashore and water assets. ----
 "Declining water utilization in the inn business of mass the tourism industry resorts:
differentiating proof for Benidorm, Spain,"according to rico et al. (2019), regardless of the
use of water protection endeavors, utilization isn't diminishing on the whole lodging
classifications. It was expressed that adjustments in water utilization are seen in mid-scale
facilities contrasted with four and 5-star inns. Gössling et al. (2015)
 Water Preservation in outside territories requires higher ventures.-- Business

This research aims to examine the utilization of water in the tourism industry area to feature
how significant the issue of water crisis is to its extent. Emphasize on the awareness that it is
essential to "Moderate Water Usage" to eliminate water crisis.

Theoretical Framework:
"Tourism Industry is a significant water source in specific places and adds to water crisis and water
quality impedance with of course social, monetary, and natural implications.
The cycle expands its discourse between the tourism industry area, crisis and board associations.
Partner- driven in coordination within the traditional design "Tourism Umbrella/stakeholders".
The effort of coordination and communication helps to distinguish measures, proper evaluations
and to upgrade the community imperativeness through an improved versatile systems. Again, the
tourism industry (the cycle as shown) and water crisis management are caught together with
commitment measure. This data is joined with deliberately gathered water crisis information to
assess possible effects and to show up at far-reaching arranging and water crisis arrangements.
(come up with a resolution)

Meanwhile with the Conceptual Framework...

By coordinating, instead of copying endeavors, the crisis, the board and the tourism
industry/amusement area make conditions and cycles where measures from one might be utilized
to illuminate the other. The structure fuses the board cycle's whole calamity, including the
openness measures, affectability measures, and versatile limit, which equivalent to outcomes. the
objective is to lessen the limitation of the tourism industry/recreational to water crisis; the
system is organized to control incorporated examination and practice through expanded
cooperation and correspondence.

Looking at the Figure 2 , the appropriate coordination and communication between resource
management, emergency management, and the tourism industry as per the commitment of
partners establish reliable and dynamic community will be seen.

Understanding the basic for neighborhood economies, the structure expressly fuses different
kinds of the tourism industry and entertainment, just as their irregularity and conditions on water
usage.

Understanding individual parts of the tourism industry/recreational and communications among

them is important for describing the connections between different seasons, and proper arid
season arranging, and environment transformation procedures.

To conclude---
The cycle analysis is so important when we think about resolution, change. we think about who
do we need to worry, and what do they care about, and what are their interests to come up with
a sustainable resolution against water crisis.
