This document provides a process for prioritizing tasks by ranking them based on importance and urgency. It involves:
1. Listing at least 5 things that need to be done.
2. Ranking each item's importance from 10 (most important) to 6 (less important).
3. Ranking each item's urgency from 1 (very urgent) to 5 (less urgent).
4. Calculating a priority score by subtracting the urgency ranking from the importance ranking and listing items from highest to lowest score to determine the order they should be done.

1. Choose a minimum of 5 things you need to do, e.g. Dentist appointment…
2. You need to rank it (row A) in order of priority, 10 being the ‘most important’ and 6 being ‘less important’. 3. You need to rank it in order of urgency, 1 being ‘very urgent’ or needs to be done ‘now’ / ‘straight away’, and 5 being ‘less urgent’/ can wait. 4. Then, you need to take the number from ‘A’, e.g. 10, and minus the number from B e.g. 1, for example: 10 – 1 = 9, and put the number / score in row C, e.g. 9. n.b. you may find that you have 2 numbers in row ‘C’ that are the same, for example 9. In this situation, you must put in row D, which is the most important in terms of priority, i.e. which would you do first! 5. Row D, you must rank 1st, 2nd… which you must do first, i.e. which is the most important and most urgent!
