CORE ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA

Exhaust Cage
• The casting is not visibly cracked, broken, or have severe

• There is any evidence of unsuccessful attempts to sal-


vage, including milling or grinding.

• There is fire damage.

Exhaust Cage
INSPECTION TIPS

Visual inspection M551 / M552 / M552C

• Only a visual inspection of the Exhaust Cage is needed.

• For all cages the use of a hoist or other lifting device is suggested to in-
spect all necessary surfaces.

• It is not necessary to disassemble, dye check, or magnaflux Exhaust


Cage cores

• The Exhaust Cage need not be cleaned, but removal of excessive oil,
dirt, carbon and gasket material by scraper or emery cloth may be neces-
sary to correctly assess the condition of the core.

• Milling or grinding will be viewed as an attempt to salvage and result in
