Introducing the negotiation exercise
Follow instructions
carefully!
• Many instructions are
available online
Do not share your
materials with anyone
This negotiation has two steps
For each step:
• You receive your confidential negotiation information to prepare
• ca. 10 minutes to prepare
• ca. 15 minutes to negotiate
• DO NOT talk about your results afterwards. Go directly back online and fill out the
post-negotiation survey with your results. Then wait quietly until everyone is done
• We will not share the solution for the case yet today. We will share the results on
Canvas as well as the solution for the case once the last tutorial has completed the
negotiation.

• We will negotiate first and discuss our experiences after. So please do
not discuss with your negotiation partner until the exercise is completed.
• Now, find a negotiation partner. TIP: Better if you don’t know them
well.
• Decide if you want to be Role 1 or Role 2. It doesn’t matter which one.
• Decide on a “team name” to report in the online platform. This should
be one word.
