Research Topic
The out-of-field teaching has created a dismal situation in the teaching of social
studies in the Philippines mainly because of the lack of expert social studies majors.
The current situation challenges the concerned teachers to ask for the needed
assistance from experts.

Research Problem
The dismal situation in the teaching of Social Studies brought by the out-of-field
teaching specifically for those DPE Graduates.

Research Questions
1) What are the difficulties faced by the teachers who are told to take Araling
Panlipunan as their major of specialization despite of their lack of knowledge
on this?
2) What are the effects of this dismal situation among our students?
3) What are the ways to cope up the challenges of teaching Social Studies?
