Task#5

A. Write the ideas of the following.

1. Graphs- pictures of points which coordinate system in which points indicate relationships
between numbers.
2. Coordinate System- a two-dimensional space in which one point characterizes two numbers
3. Linear Curve- is a curve that is drawn a straight line. This line starts in the left side and goes
down to the right
4. Slope- the ratio of the vertical change between two points, the rise, to the horizontal change
between the same two points, the run.
5. Inverse Relationship- is a relationship between two variables in which at the time once goes
up, the other goes down.
6. Non-Linear- is a curve that is drawn as a curve line; stars on the left-hand side and goes up to
the right, upward sloping.
7. Line Graph- where the data are connected by an uninterrupted line.
8. Bar Graph- where the data are under each point is pervaded in the look like a bar
9. Pie Chart- a type of graph in which a circle is divided into sectors that each represent a
proportion of the whole.
10. Direct Relationship- This is where two variables do the same thing. If one increases, the
other increases. If one decreases, the other decreases.

Queries:

a. Is the relationship between cost per unit and output, linear, nonlinear? Why?
The relationship between cost per unit and output is NONLINEAR because the curve that is
drawn as a curve line stars on the left-hand side and goes up to the right, upward sloping.

b. In what range in output is the relationship inverse?

The inverse relationship in output is from 1 to 5

c. In what range in output is the slope negative?

The slope negative in output is from 1 to 5

d. What is the slope between 1 and 2 units?

The slope between 1 and 2 units is -2/1 or -2 which is a NEGATIVE SLOPE
