The group discussion is based on the following situation:
Covid-19 has badly affected the whole world. It has led to a dramatic loss of human life. The
economic, education and social disruption caused by the pandemic is devastating. Now is the time
for solidarity and support, especially with the most vulnerable in our societies. Only together can
we overcome the intertwined health and social and economic impacts of the pandemic and
prevent its escalation into a protracted humanitarian catastrophe.
Discuss with your friends the impacts of the pandemic in your own life, what you have learnt
from them and suggest ways to make things better.
The meeting must display all the speaking skills you have learned during the course and these include:
Expressing feeling and thoughts
Stating facts and opinion
Making suggestions
Turn-taking
