UNDERSTANDING SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES OF COUNTRY:

A MINI PORTFOLIO REFLECTING A CULTURE OF RESILIENCE ADMITS GLOBAL ISSUES

INTRODUCTION
It's amazing how frequently Taiwan and the Chinese mainland get confounded or
even combined. Although their civilizations may appear to be same, they are
actually two entirely separate places. For those who are not knowledgeable about
such things, the differences between the island and the mainland are listed
below. Formosa, also known as "Ilha Formosa," was the previous name of
Taiwan, which was given to the island by Portuguese sailors who were passing
through (the beautiful island). The Republic of China is Taiwan's correct name,
despite the fact that it is occasionally referred to as Taiwan (ROC) or the Republic
of China online and in the media (Taiwan). Over 70% of people speak Mandarin
every day, despite the fact that Taiwanese Hokkien, often known as Taiwanese, is
widely used. people perceive mainland China similarly to how they do Taiwan.

There are numerous languages and dialects spoken in China. This means that
there are many locations within the country where the population may not truly
speak the nation’s official language. Simple Chinese is the name given to the
simplified version of traditional characters used in written Chinese in China. In
order to promote reading, the simplified characters were initially developed in the
1950s.

SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES

CHINA
The Nature Conservancy seeks to lower greenhouse gas emissions by utilizing
readily accessible, affordable natural climate solutions, such as reforestation and
averted deforestation. By doing this, we would be able to reduce greenhouse gas
emissions by more than one-third of what is needed to keep the global warming
trend below 2 degrees Celsius by 2030.The degradation of forests has serious
climate effects because they store enormous amounts of carbon. TNC China is
dedicated to putting into action forest carbon offset initiatives that take into
account the biodiversity, community, and climatic balance. Restoration of the
numerous advantages and services that forests and wetland ecosystems offer to
humanity is the goal of these projects. Over 27,000 acres of forest carbon offset
projects have been carried out by TNC in China as of this writing. In addition,
24,000,000 tree seedlings will be planted, which should prevent 2,600,000 metric.

TAIWAN
This study provides an overview and synopsis of Taiwan's climate change
legislation, action plans, guidelines, renewable energy targets, biofuels policy,
and adaption strategy, along with links to pertinent resources. Taiwan's
Greenhouse Gas Reduction and Management Act, which was passed in 2015,
established a target of lowering carbon emissions by 50 percent below 2005
levels by the year 2050. It put out a draft amendment in October 2021 that would
mandate a carbon tax for emissions and aim for "net zero" emissions by 2050.
Only 1% of Taiwan's overall emissions come from agricultural sources (GHG).
Expanding sustainable farming, using biogas in livestock farms, and
reforestation are some of the ag-focused strategies to cut GHG emissions. The
lack of a history of biofuel crop production in Taiwan is a challenge .

CONCLUSION

DEVELOP

A society's or an institution's ability to avoid, accept, tolerate, or adjust to

dangers to rapidly and successfully address, alter, and recover from a hazard's
effects, by preserving and rehabilitating its most crucial structures, among other
things, and the development of solutions to deal with population changes and
technological advancement systemic difficulties and turn them in opportunities. In
the modern environment, a resilient society understands the key transformative
factors including globalization, urbanization, and climate change are at work. This
also calls for global action through worldwide cooperation for unified and
coordinated frameworks like the Addis Ababa Action Agenda.
