INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE TEACHER ASSESSOR

1. All pupils should be seated at least 15 minutes before the assessment.

2. Ensure that all pupils have rulers, pencils and erasers.

3. Open the package of assessment papers in the presence of the pupils. The
opening of the package must be drawn to their attention.

4. Distribute a booklet to each pupil.

5. Ensure that each assessment booklet has all the questions.

6. All pupils should be allowed at least three minutes to write their full names
in the space provided. If a pupil is unable to do so, you must write it for him
or her.

7. Pupils should write the composition on the lined paper which is attached to
the booklet.

8. FOR GRADE TWO: READ EACH QUESTION TWICE AND GIVE PUPILS
TIME TO RESPOND. YOUR ROLE IS SIMPLY TO READ FOR THE
PUPILS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO GUIDE THEIR RESPONSES.

9. FOR GRADE FOUR: DO NOT READ FOR THE PUPILS AT GRADE FOUR.
