Corona virus Pandemic:

Every news outlet seems to be talking nonstop about the new corona virus, which is
causing an illness called COVID-19.

COVID-19 is the infectious disease caused by the most recently discovered corona
virus. This new virus and disease were unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan,
China, in December 2019.

COVID-19 is now a pandemic affecting many countries globally.

The most common symptoms of covid – 19 are fever, sore throat, breathlessness, dry
cough and tiredness. Other symptoms that are less common are nasal congestion,
aches, headaches, loss of taste and smell etc.

People can catch COVID-19 from others who have the virus. The disease spreads
primarily from person to person through small droplets from the nose or mouth, which are
expelled when a person with COVID-19 coughs, sneezes, or speaks.
How can we protect our self and others from COVID-19?

Wash your hands frequently using soap and water or an alcohol-based

alcohol based hand rub

Cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue when coughing or sneezing. Dispose of
used tissue immediately
 Avoid close contact with anyone who has cold or flu-like
flu like symptoms

Regularly clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces like phones, doorknobs, light
switches and countertops

Seek medical care early if you or your neighbour has a fever, cough or difficulty
breathing
