These days everyone is itching to be famous, but this is something that we do not want Jio
technical team to know,
As they could easily patch and fix this loophole, they have already disabled ADB access on
the boxes and also removed AppInstaller but we have a method of Android adbs partition,
which lets us erase/format certain partition, without any physical damage and you can get
your stb replaced.

Perquisite:

1. Disable Secure Boot (Check into your device BIOS)

2. M2M Cable (Male2Male USB cable)
3. Amlogic Tool 5.5.0
4. Pin or Sim ejector

Device Driver Signature

This was security that was built into Windows to prevent us from installing bad drivers. This is a
feature called Device Driver Signing.

After going through the steps to disable driver signing in Windows 8/8.1/10, I was able to get my
legacy drivers installed. Here’s how I did it.

 Option 1 – Command to Enable or Disable

1. Click the “Start” button.
2. Type “command“.
3. Right-click on “Command Prompt” and select “Run As Administrator“.
4. Type “BCDEDIT /set nointegritychecks ON” and then press “Enter“.
(This will disable the device driver signing if you wish to reenable it type “BCDEDIT /set
nointegritychecks OFF” then press “Enter“.

 Option 2 – Disable From Menus

1. Select the “Start” button.
2. Type “startup”.
3. Select “Change advanced startup settings“.
4. Select “Restart now” under the “Advanced startup” area.
5. Select “Troubleshoot“.
6. Select “Advanced Options“.
7. Select “Startup Options“.
8. Select “Restart“.
9. A menu will appear where you can press “7” on your keyboard to choose “Disable
driver signing enforcement“.

You’re done! The Device Driver setting is now modified., I prefer Option 1 on windows 10.
How to get your Jio STB into Fastboot Mode.
 Driver Installation
1. Download and Extract the Amlogic Tool into your windows (drive partition) C:\
2. Now Navigate Manually to C:\ AMLogicTools\ then Right Click on AMLogic driver
installer.exe and Run it as Administartor.
3. First check USB Driver(WorldCup) and install it,
4. Only after WorldCup driver is successfully installed, check Serial driver(PL2303) and
install.
 Jio STB Fastbooting
1. Make sure you Plug the JIO adapator to the wallplug and turn it on, do not plug it to
the box yet.
2. Now Plug the M2M USB from Computer to JIO STB (USB2.0 port)

(Look carefully some STB has 2 Pins, We need to plug into Black, if your box only has one your lucky)

3. Now flip the box, press the Reset Button using the pin and Plug the adaptor pin into
the STB

(There are different STB some have reset button located under AV Port, so ask someone or search)
 4. The very moment you Plug the adaptor cable you will hear a device found audio
sound

(check in the device manager you can see WorldCup Device)

5. Now that the device is visible, its time to navigate to “C:\ AMLogicTools\” folder and
Run as administrator “AMLBootloaderConsole.exe”

(If the Device are successfully installed and no issues with drivers signatures, you will automatically
get “Waiting for device…” and then “root@uboot:~#”)
 6. Now type “init fastbooot”, and on your screen you will get “root@fastboot:~#”.

(The device will disconnect as Worldcup and Reconnect as Android ADB Interface)

7. You can hear the shift of connection by sound on speakers, please do not close this
“Amlogic bootloader console”.

8. Launch “Command Prompt/Power Shell” window at path of “C:\Amlogic\bin” and

type “fastboot devices”

(you can see that the device is connected and can be visible in fastboot)
 9. Now simply type “fastboot erase system” and hit enter, this will simply erase and
remove everything from the JIO STB.

Now, your box is officially soft brick, just for your understanding there isn’t any damage done, we
have erased the disk and removed android os and files,

Jio team can easily use the tools/firmware/flash files at their disposable and fix this box with a flash,
which they love to keep it secret and safe, so we can’t crack it open,

None of us will be or should be blamed for your screwup or any damage done to your box trying to
mess with something that you can’t phathom,

Now all you need to be smart and complain that your Jio STB has stopped working all of sudden, the
team will visit and provide a replacement,

Make sure you do not let them connect the fresh box to internet and plug the pen drive with apps
and give the necessary permission required to install apps in near future.

If you accidently format or reset this box by system settings you will lose everything and you won’t
be able to re-install anything,

This replacement method will work only once or twice, Jio team are not completely stupid.
