How do you intend to use the four areas of the media theoretical framework to communicate meaning
and meet the requirements of your chosen brief? (approx. 400 words)

Product 1
In both magazines, there will be representation two different social groupes, being men and women. My
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
Male story is about a young black man who isnt defined by his race but his actions. He buys and sells
clothes from charity shops and other 2nd hand retailers to try end the destructive and wasteful nature of
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
fast fashion. He is not only an entrepenure but also cares about the enviroment and wants to make a
positive change. As a Model he can afford and wear influencial brands and clothing while showing its
possible to dress stylish with 2nd hand clothing. He is of mixed race decent and therefore challenges

Paul Gilroys theory on post colonialism, the positive light Theo is shown in builds a good image of Theo.
My Second Magazines main model is Haaniya Hanan, a highly qualified buisiness woman who had built
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
her own bamboo company. This is confilcting Van Zoonen's feminism theory by presenting a woman as
a buisiness person, which stereotypically women arent shown as in the media. My target audience is an
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
aspirational 16-25 year old, the theme of a business woman would interest my target audienc and inspire
some of the women into beliveing they can become a sucessful entrepenures regardless of race or
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
gender.
The colour pallet used in the first edition was blue, beige, red and white. These colours are from the
models outfit but have also been used in all of the cover lines, masthead and the puff. However with the
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
puff yellow was used for the text to add some more contrasting colours and to make the puff stand out
further.

made sure to optimise how my website looks on a phone and made an effort to make it look clean and
readable to people with worse eyesight. The colour pallet for the main page of my website include Brown
Turquoise and black. I saw a similar pallet on a cover of GQ and took some inspiration from it as I really

liked how clean and professional it comes off. There are three different pages on my website, a home
page with the social media links and a BTS section, the second page is full of articles from the front

cover models and a reference to the issue, date and photographer. The final page is a subscribe page
where there is a place to fill in your details and get an offer for the magazine. The colour pallet is different

for this section being pink, grey and navy blue. The use of a vibrant pink really pops out of the page and
may encourage people to get the deal. I have a call to action on the home page linking to all of the social
media (twitter, instagram, youtube) and an email link.

How do you intend to link your media products to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of
the digitally convergent nature of your media production? (approx. 100 words)
On my magazine contents pages i have a QR code linking to the website and from there all the social
media. I also mentioned the social media @'s on the contents page to encourage readers to follow it. plus
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
on each. It is equally important to have convergence from the websites to the magazine aswell, so i have
mentioned which issue each article comes from and i did the same on the various social media. The
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
subscribe page on my website also adds a deal element where you can sign up to get money off the
actual magazine along with other deals.
