I. Content: What are the important information that you will include in your presentation?
 Environmental Literacy, Ecological Literacy, Ecoliteracy – For the discussion of
the Environmental and Ecological Literacy, and Ecoliteracy the reporters will made
mention of the following important question components:
i. What is Environmental Literacy?
o What are the 5 components of Environmental Literacy
 Awareness, Knowledge, Attitudes, Skills, and
Action.
ii. What is Ecological Literacy or Ecoliteracy?
iii. Are there any differences or similarities between Environmental Literacy
and Ecological Literacy?

 Characteristics of an Eco-literate individual – this topic will focus on the ways on


becoming a Eco-literate individual
i. Become an inquirer
ii. Become a reflective learner
iii. Become intelligently self-directed
iv. Become a morally responsible person
v. Become an ecologically responsible person
vi. Seek self-transcendence

 Importance of Eco-literacy – the discussion on this topic will focus on the


following:
i. Develop empathy for all forms of life
ii. Embrace sustainability as a community practice
iii. Make the invisible visible
iv. Anticipate unintended consequences
v. Understand how nature sustains life

 Greening Initiatives in Schools – The discussion on the Greening Initiatives in


Schools will focus on the following:
i. Defining each aspect that relates to Green School Goal
ii. Who are the people that will be involved in the School Greening
o students
o teachers
o administrators
o staff (secretaries, teaching assistants, cleaning staff, maintenance
workers, school bus drivers, cafeteria workers, security guards)
o parents
o volunteers
o visitors (delivery people, guest speakers, attendees at school
dances or athletic events, facilities renters)
o suppliers
o neighbours
o school board trustees
o Green School advisors or mentors
iii. How to start the School Greening

 Integrating Eco-literacy in the classroom – The discussion for the topic


Integrating Eco-literacy in the classroom will focus on the strategies that the
teachers or educators can utilize to educate students’ about Eco – literacy and
become an Eco-literate individual:
i. Place-based Learning
ii. Project-based Learning
iii. Socratic Inquiry
iv. Experiential Learning
v. Interdisciplinary Learning

II. Pedagogy: What strategy will you use in the presentation of your topics?
 Matanglawin is a science-environmental educational show, and we are going to use
this "Matanglawin" TV show as strategy to present our topics. We will change
"Matanglawin" to "Matang-Nature" as referring to environmental literacy which
means the nature or behaviors of every student has.
 We choose "Sherwin Alexie Mercado" to act as an host of our "Matang-Nature"
strategy and his name instead of "Kuya Kim", we named him as "Kuya Win" and the
rest of our group will be a guest to Kuya Win's education show as a contributors to
present our topic.
