Alhamdulillah, buat julung-julung kali beta dapat duduk bersama-sama dengan ahli-ahli Majlis
Bencana Kebangsaan. Majlis ini sebenarnya berperanan amat penting, ia bukan setakat untuk
menerima dan mendengarkan laporan-laporan daripada ahli-ahli sahaja tetapi seharusnya
juga memikir dan melakar apa-apa yang patut dibuat berbangkit dengan kejadian-kejadian
atau isu-isu semua yang berlaku. Inilah Peranan Majlis Bencana Kebangsaan. Bahkan
pada hemat beta ia juga patut lebih kehadapan lagi untuk melihat apa-apa yang belum
berlaku tetapi mungkin berlaku pada bila-bila masa, boleh berlaku seperti misalnya kalau
berlaku keganasan, terrorism, berlaku tsunami atau gempa bumi kepada Brunei.
Semoga dijauhi oleh Allah. Apa langkah yang patut dirangka, apa persediaan kita.
Kita jangan ketawakan perkara ini. Di Brunei jarang berlaku banjir besar tetapi
baru-baru ini berlaku. Air sampai naik ke kawasan-kawasan yang belum dinaiki
sebelumnya. Di Brunei tidak pernah berlaku tanah susur, tetapi baru-baru ini
berlaku banyak rumah dan bangunan yang rosak, malah ada nyawa yang
terkorban.Semua ini meminta kewaspadaan kita, jangan tunggu berlaku baru
hendak kakai-kakai, itu tidak betul
