DRUG ABUSE AWARENESS AND PREVENTION REACTION PAPER

Republic Act 9165 is all about an act establishing the comprehensive dangerous
act of 2022, repealing Republic Act No. 6425, also known as the Dangerous Drugs Act
of 1972, as amended, providing funds therefore, and for other purposes. It is relevant to
our society because it is the State's policy to protect the integrity of its territory and the
well-being of its citizens, particularly the youth, from the harmful effects of dangerous
drugs on their physical and mental well-being, and to defend them against acts or
omissions that are detrimental to their development and preservation. With President
Rodrigo Duterte's anti-drug campaign, this 14-year-old measure has been thrust into the
spotlight. The government is required under RA 9165 to "pursue an intense and
unyielding campaign against the trafficking and use of hazardous narcotics and other
related substances."
I will serve as a role model for the pupils. As a role model, they will emulate what
they see and act on what they observe. I will explain to them that using drugs is
hazardous to one's health and can jeopardize one's future. I'll also go through the many
adverse effects of taking dangerous drugs with them. Inform the children that using risky
substances may be harmful to their health. I will also tell them that it lead them to death
as it was very dangerous not just on the intake but for the community as it is one of the
most heinous actions here in the Philippines.
