Physical

According to the data they gathered in a study conducted on The Relationship between
Technology Use and Physical Activity among Typically-Developing Children. It was discovered
that technology use is associated with the reported health issues, particularly among developing
children. Among those mentioned are an increased risk of childhood obesity, type 2 diabetes
mellitus, and all-cause mortality. It has also been linked to an increased risk of metabolic
syndrome, as well as a wide range of physical and psychological disorders seen in
technologically dependent children. (Alotaibi et. al, 2020). Technology use interrupts daily
activities, not only of children, but of the general population that makes use of it. Because of this,
people tend to have less physical activities in their everyday life. Physical inactivity is
accounting for the reported approximately 3.2 million deaths worldwide each year, making it a
risk factor for high mortality.
Physical activity is critical for maintaining normal blood pressure and glucose levels,
maintaining a healthy body weight, improving sleep patterns, and improving immune response
and metabolism (World Health Organization,2017).  It also plays a vital role in maintaining a
healthy body weight, and helps reduce health and life-threatening risks. The effects of digital
devices on people’s physical health is not entirely negative. In a time of technology, digital
devices help in keeping and tracking medical records. For medical professionals, it is convenient
for them in terms of diagnosing and administering tests. Generally, digital devices offer
convenience for those who use them, only if used properly and in a limited amount of screen
time. The use of digital tools and devices causes some issues for users, such as visual problems,
headaches, unnecessary time consumption, and weight gain. Nonetheless, individuals use a
variety of self-prevention measures to prevent and control such problems in order to live a
healthy life and achieve personal well-being (Joshi et al.,2021).
Intellectual
In a world of digital devices, you have access to every information you need in just one
click. It has been speculated that the use of digital devices alters the human brain, affecting the
cognitive ability of a person, memory, attention, and a lot more. In simple terms, it is said that
the use of digital devices makes us humans question our intellect. On an article by E. Pasquinelli
(2018), it was found that the brain has the ability to reprogram itself over time. It is also stated in
the article that “psychologists Christopher Chabris, then at Union College, and Daniel J. Simons
of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign claimed that “There is simply no experimental
evidence to show that living with new technologies fundamentally changes brain organization in
a way that affects one’s ability to focus,””. Contrary to the usual, digital devices have a way of
defending itself from claims of negative effects. It offers mind-challenging games and apps that
help train and develop a person’s brain. Some digital games, apps, and videos can help develop
the attention span, reaction time, and memory of a person.
Without a doubt, humans spend a lot of their time on their digital devices
nowadays, especially those who come from Generation Y and Generation Z. The word “digital
natives” is often used synonymously to the word “millennials” (E. Vogels, 2019), although
Generation Z now fits in the “digital natives”, it is still the “millennials”, or people from
Generation Y who were first named as that.   Generation Y and Generation Z use digital devices
in terms of career, education, entertainment, communication, leisure, and even in everyday lives.
Because Generation Y or “millennials” are first to be exposed and actually use technology and
digital devices as a part of their lives, the standards for education and leadership  have changed
as well. Millennials have the pressure of performing well in their tasks because of early exposure
to digital devices, and having enough knowledge and access to the internet. They (Generation Y
or “millennials”) want to be taught in higher education and how they want to lead and expect to
be led in organizations, after graduating; This is expected to help keep motivation levels high, as
motivation is seen to be the key element to success in life. Millennials expect also to be led
authentically and to be treated as valued human beings (Au-Yong-Oliveira, et.al,2017).
In a study conducted, the Generation Z’s career goals are to build several parallel careers,
and have multiple jobs simultaneously. They prefer their working environment to be flexible and
open for learning, uses technology for their jobs, e.g. documents, database, research, email. They
prefer their client orientation done via email, text, or IM, mentoring to have constant feedback ,
etc.(Gaidhani,2019) This Generation derives education from the internet. In a study that included
498 young people who were active members of an online peer-to-peer knowledge-sharing
community. ANOVA analysis revealed that respondents preferred learning via mobile
applications and video content over traditional methods. It was also discovered that students
tended to emulate their teachers who integrated modern technologies into their curriculum and
used them for learning outside of classroom hours (Szymkowiak et. al, 2021).
