The book is designed to be used profitably by learners who are just

Idioms for Everyday Use is organized into 20 units, each with a
general theme such as colors, food, geography, and time. A unit
‘covers idioms with words related to its theme; for example, the idioms
in the color unit include in the red, to fee! blue, red tape, and a white lie.
Each unit consists of the following sections:
» Reading—presents the idioms in the context of an amusing story,
giving learners their first exposure to the idioms.

learners to actively determine their meanings,

own,
» Discussion—invites learners to make cultural comparisons and
provides reabife stories or examples that ilustrate usage.
