The Golden Ratio

Materials:
Pen or Pencil, tape measure, Calculator

Note: You may use a string and ruler as alternative in the tape measure

Objectives:
1. To measure parts of the face accurately.
2. To identify numerical patterns/compute accurately.
3. To determine whether or not different faces approximate the Golden
Ratio.
4. To appreciate the use of mathematics in exploring human uniqueness.

Instructions:
I. Look at the diagram and then measure carefully the 3 sets of pairs of facial measurements
using centimeters. Fill in the Data table below and use a calculator to work out the
ratios/divisions.
