DENR (Department of Environment and Natural Resources)


- To mobilize our citizenry in protecting, conserving, and managing the environment
and natural resources for the present and future generations.

- Formulate implement and supervise the government's policies, plans and programs
pertaining to the management, conservation, development, use and replenishment
of the country's natural resources and ecological diversity; and

- Promulgate and implement rules and regulations governing the exploration,


development, extraction, disposition, and use of the forests, lands, minerals,
wildlife, and other natural resources.

GOVERNMENT AGENCIES THAT ARE UNDER DENR


BMB (Biodiversity Management Bureau)
- To conserve and sustainably manage the country's biodiversity.
- Formulate and recommend policies, guidelines, rules and regulations for the
establishment and management of an Integrated Protected Areas System such as
national parks, wildlife sanctuaries and refuge, marine parks and biospheric
reserves;
- Formulate an up-to-date listing of endangered Philippine flora and fauna and
recommend a program of conservation and propagation of the same;
- Formulate and recommend policies, guidelines and rules for the conservation of the
three (3) components of biological diversity: genetic resources, ecosystems and
endangered species of Philippine flora and fauna;
- Assist the Secretary in the monitoring and assessment of the management of the
Integrated Protected Areas System and provide technical assistance to the Regional
offices in the implementation of programs for these areas.

EMB (Environmental Management Bureau)


- To protect restore and enhance environmental quality towards good public health,
environmental integrity and economic viability
- Advise the Secretary on matters relating to Environmental Management
- Formulate plans and policies and set appropriate environmental quality standards
(Water, Air And Noise) for the prevention, control of pollution and protection of the
environment
- Exercise direct supervision over its regional offices in the implementation of plans
and programs. The central and regional offices of the bureau discharge both staff
and regulatory functions
Issue permits, clearances Under RA 8749, RA 9003, RA 9275, RA 6969 and PD 1586 
and monitor compliance to said laws
- Provide secretariat support to the pollution adjudication board per EO 192
- Provide secretariat support to the National Solid Waste Management Commission as
provided for in Section 4 of Ra 9003
- Develop and implement a research and development program in support of the
following:
Environmental And Compliance Monitoring; And
Study of existing and potential environmental problems and issues
- Implement a system for the recognition of environmental laboratories
- Promote public information and education to encourage participation of an
informed citizenry in environmental quality planning and monitoring.
- Serve as focal point agency for international agreements/commitments

FMB (Forest Management Bureau)


- provides technical guidance to the central and field offices for the effective
protection, development, and conservation of forestlands and watersheds.
- It shall recommend policies and programs towards the achievement of sustainable
forest management, based on science and principles of good forest governance

LMB (Land Management Bureau)


- Provide direction through the development of long and medium-term strategic plans
for the land sector and monitoring and evaluation tools to ensure achievement of
goals.
- Formulate policies for the efficient and effective administration and management of
alienable and disposable public lands and ensure compliance.
- Develop land and survey standards and guidelines and ensure its compliance.

MGB (Mines and Geosciences Bureau)


- responsible for the conservation, management, development and proper use of the
country’s mineral resources including those in reservations and lands of public
domain.

2. NAMRIA (National Mapping and Resource Information Authority)


- is the government’s central mapping agency. The agency contributes to the nation’s social,
economic, and environmental goals using state-of-the art technology to produce maps,
charts, and other geospatial information products and services. These products and services
are essential tools for planning, decision making, operations, and governance.

- providing services to address issues and concerns on the environment and
particularly on solid waste management.
- To direct, lead, and coordinate the country’s scientific and technological efforts
geared towards maximum economic and social benefits for the people.

solutions that will lead to higher productivity and better quality of life.”
