The document outlines materials required for aluminum cladding insulation projects, including rockwool light resin bonded mattresses of varying densities and thicknesses, aluminum sheets of different gauges, and ancillary materials like screws and wires. It provides examples of which materials would be used for different steam temperature conditions. The specification section details the process of cleaning surfaces, attaching lugs or nuts to hold insulation, fixing spacer rings and rockwool mattresses with lacing wire, fabricating and fixing aluminum sheets with self-tapping screws, and filling joints with sealant.

1. Rockwool Light Resin Bonded Mattresses ( LRB Mattress) with ¾” X
24SWG wire netting confirming to IS 8183 standards. : Density of LRB Mattress will be 100kg/m3, 120 Kg/m3 & 150Kg/m3. : Thickness of LRB Mattress will be 50mm, 75mm, 100mm, 125mm & 150mm (Considering the inside steam temperature & surface temperature, density & thickness of LRB Mattresses will be decided. Example- If inside steam temperature is 180 degree then 100kg density with 50mm thickness of LRB Mattress will be used. 2. Aluminium Sheets ( HINDALCO or ZINDAL) with sheet thickness 20swg, 22swg, 24swg & 26swg (guage) Example- for all pipelines 24swg Aluminium sheets and all bodies 20 Swg Aluminium sheets will be used normaly. 3. Ancillary materials – 8/13 PAN head screws, 10swg (for making hooks to body or bolt nuts),20swg G.I Wires ( for tighting LRB Mattress ends) welding rods , etc.
Specification for Aluminum cladding
A) Cleaning the surface to be insulated by means of wire brushing
B) Welding 10G GI wire lugs or bolt nuts to hold the insulation material. C) Fixing MS Spacer rings 25 x 3 to hold the sheet metal cladding( for tanks only). D) Fixing Rockwool LRB Mattress to required thickness and holding the same by means of lacing wire (G.I Wire 20swg ).
D)Fabricating and fixing Aluminum sheets (20swg or 22swg or 24swg
depend upon the requirements) bent true to shape and held in position by means self tapping screws. E. Filling the joints with Silicon base waterproofing sealant.
