Capital is Beijing and Shanghai is the city with the most people living in it.

Location:
China is the largest country located entirely within Asia, this country is located in the northern half of
the Eastern Hemisphere, the Southeast Eurasia, East and Middle Asia, West of the Pacific Ocean,
covering 9.6 million square kilometers. The greater part of the country is mountainous, has common
borders with Russia, Mongolia (north), with Kazakstan, Kirgizstan, Tajikistan (west), with Myanmar,
Laos, Vietnam (south), with Korea (east).
Population: more than 1,4 billion people. ( 1,410,539,758)
Ethnicity: China has 56 ethnic groups. The Han ethnic group is the predominant ethnic group
(accounting for 6% of the country’s population and distributed over 50-60% of the national area.)
Religion: There are 4 main religions: Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, Christianity.
National Day: October 1, 1949.
Government: China is governed by the Communist Party of China. The government consists of
executive branch, the legislative branch, the judicial branch and the military branch. The primary
organs of state power are the National People’s Congress, the President, and the State Council. The
Head of State is the President and the Head of Government is the Premier. The current president of
China is Xi Jinping and he has been in office since 2012.
