- ISSUE DESCRIPTION -
With the MPL-, MPF-, MPS-, and F-Series Servo Motor, Limited Catalog Numbers, Series A, hereafter referred to as
products, the following potential product quality concern exists:
• Magnet wire is used to wind the motor stator assemblies. Some products were manufactured with magnet wire
of a non-compliant insulation grade.
• Non-compliant motor magnet wire insulation may become damaged during operation, causing the
connected servo drive to fault and prohibit any further motion from occurring.
o The following Servo Drive faults may occur:
Power Module\Excessive Current Faults (Drive Error codes E05 or E23)
Position\Velocity Error Faults (Drive Error codes E19 or E20)
o Typically the servo drive and associated cables do not incur damage and can be commissioned with
a replacement motor
• There is no field process to determine if a servo motor is experiencing the anomaly, nor is there a possibility for
field repair.
- ISSUE CORRECTION –
Temporary Workaround: No Temporary Workaround is available.
The issue described above has been corrected in the following versions of the servo motors
All production and remanufactured inventory was inspected and purged as required.
