There are five easy steps in installing Enterprise Architect Ultimate Edition Floating License, and
registering your license.

STEP 1: DOWNLOAD
STEP 2: SETUP THE KEYSTORE SERVICE AND ADD KEYS
STEP 3: INSTALL ENTERPRISE ARCHITECT
STEP 4: INSTALL THE MDG ADD-INS
STEP 5: ACCESS THE KEYSTORE FROM ENTERPRISE ARCHITECT

The instructions for each step are provided below.

STEP 1: DOWNLOAD

The 'Registered Downloads' page found here:

1.1) Download the Enterprise Architect installer

Note: The Registered User password may be reset for security reasons. If this occurs, you will be
notified by email.

IMPORTANT:
Enterprise Architect and the Sparx Systems Keystore Service are delivered via electronic download from
the Registered User site. As part of your initial purchase, you receive one year of free updates and
access to the Registered User site. At the end of that year, you may renew your maintenance
agreement (see pricing details on the Sparx Systems website). If you choose not to renew, you lose
access to product downloads and the Registered User site.

For this reason, we strongly recommend that you make a backup copy of your downloads. This enables
you to re-install at any future time, as Sparx Systems does not guarantee the availability of previous
versions of Enterprise Architect for download.

STEP 2: SETUP THE KEYSTORE SERVICE AND ADD KEYS

In order for Enterprise Architect to 'use' a floating license a Keystore Service or Float License Server
needs to be installed and configured in your environment, it will be responsible for assigning keys to
individual users as they start Enterprise Architect.

If the Keystore Service or Float License Server has already been installed and setup, then skip to step
2.2). You (or the keystore administrator) can add keys to the existing store.

2.1) Install and configure the Keystore Service or Floating License Server

2.1.1) Install Keystore Service using ssks_install.pdf as a guide

The password for the Keystore (sparxkeystoreservice.exe) installer is:

(The third character is a lower case L.)
NOTE: To avoid typing errors, it is recommended that you copy and paste the above password into the
dialog rather than typing it manually.

2.1.2) Or, install the Floating License Server (a component of the Pro Cloud Server) , see

These keys register Enterprise Architect Ultimate Edition Floating License. They also register the MDG
products that are provided in the Enterprise Architect Ultimate Edition Floating License package.

STEP 3: INSTALL ENTERPRISE ARCHITECT

Note: If Enterprise Architect has already been installed on the user PC's then you can skip to step 5.

To install Enterprise Architect:

3.1) Check the system requirements:

If you are installing Enterprise Architect on Windows Vista or Windows 7, please note the specific
instructions on the system requirements page concerning these systems.

3.2) If you have installed the trial version of Enterprise Architect, uninstall it using "Add/Remove
Programs" in the Windows Control Panel.

3.3) Run the Enterprise Architect Installer (easetupfull.msi) which was downloaded in step 1 and follow
the prompts. Typically, you can accept all the default options.

STEP 4: INSTALL THE MDG ADD-INS

Download the installer files for each of the MDG Add-In products packaged with Enterprise Architect
Ultimate Edition, which you want to use. The download location for the MDG Add-In products is:

To install each Add-In, run the installer then follow the prompts.

IMPORTANT:
As the MDG Add-In installation files are delivered by electronic download from the Sparx Systems site,
we strongly recommend that you make a backup copy of your downloads. This enables you to re-
install at any future time, as Sparx Systems does not guarantee the availability of previous versions of
any MDG Add-In for download.

Note: The MDG Technology for DoDAF-MODAF has been superseded by the MDG Technology for
UPDM.

STEP 5: ACCESS THE FLOATING LICENSE FROM ENTERPRISE ARCHITECT

5.1) Start up Enterprise Architect. The License Management dialog automatically displays.
5.2) Click on the Add Key button.
5.3) In the Add Registration Key dialog, select the Get Shared Key tab.
5.4) If required, type in your name and company details.
5.5) Next to the Shared Keystore field, click on the [ ... ] (Browse) button.
5.6) Select the Floating License store: Keystore Service or Floating License Server
5.6.1) For a Keystore Service, enter "ssks://" for the protocol followed by the name of the server hosting
the Keystore Service. The User Name and Password fields should be left blank unless explicitly
instructed by the license administrator. Click the "Test" button to confirm the details are valid.
5.6.2)For the Floating License Server, enter "https://" for the protocol followed by the name of the
server hosting the Pro Cloud Server and the User Name and Password as instructed by the license
administrator. Click the "Test" button to confirm the details are valid.
5.7) In the Select a Product field, click on EA Ultimate Edition, then click on the OK button.
5.8) Click on the Close key to close the License Management dialog.
5.9) When Enterprise Architect is first run you will be prompted for your activation key. Your installer
activation key is:

5.10) Click OK to continue.

Your Enterprise Architect Ultimate Edition Floating License is now installed and registered!
