1. BUSINESS PROJECT RATIONALE
The use of organic fertilizers has advantage of being cheap, improving soil structure, texture
and aeration increasing the soils water retention abilities and stimulating healthy root
development. The purpose of this project is to introduce organic fertilizer in Baganga,
though fertilizers are already known especially to some locals. Vegetables, animals and
residue materials had a contribution to improve soil organic matter content in soil. Therefor
it is recommended that, using integrated nutrient management is a continuous improvement
of soil productivity on longer term basis through appropriate use of organic fertilizers (i.e.,
animal manure, plants residue and sewage sludge) and their scientific management for
increments of optimum growth, yield and quality of different crops.
D. Location
Orga-Soil has a great area for its outlet because it is near the public Market in Baganga.
People can visit us if they wanted to buy our products. Also, visitors and tourists can also

buy from our outlet. Moreover, it is also our production area since the area is wide and far
from residential buildings.

i. Target Consumer.
Our target consumers are the plantitas, plantitos and locals of Baganga who wants
to plant flowers and or crops. Since this orga-soil fertilizer helps to rejuvenate and improve
soil properties for better crop production. Also, the location of our outlet is near the
Baganga Public Market and Terminal visitors and tourists can be also our target consumers.

ii. Possible rate of demand with factual bases
Food and Fertilizer Technology for ASEAN and Pacific Region (FFTC-AP )
reported that this sector accounted for 13% of the total GDP from 1998 to 2009
but has steadily declined to 10% in 2017. However, its gross value added (GVA)
in constant price has been growing the same year which means that agriculture
is not declining in absolute size. Its declining contribution to GDP is due to
structural transformation growth as industry and services grew much faster
thereby accounting for increasing contribution to the growing economy.
Table 1. shows the identified supplier of Raw Materials for the production.
Orga−Soil fertilizers are naturally produced. Fertilizers are materials that can be
added to soil or plants, in order to provide nutrients and sustain growth. Typical organic
fertilizers include all animal waste including meat processing waste, manure, slurry, and
guano; plus plant based fertilizers such as compost; and bio solids. Cycle of organic fertilizer
production takes 30-45 days. In one year, six production cycles are possible. Organic
fertilizer offers many benefits to the environment. It improves soil tilth and structure;
increases soil’s ability to hold water and nutrients; supports living soil organisms; helps

dissolve mineral forms of nutrients; buffers soil from chemical imbalances; provides
biological control of certain soil pests; and helps return organic materials to the soil.

d. Finance
The business plan details the financial for the venture, which requires Php5,000.00 in
startup funding. Startup funds will be utilized to pay for the raw materials and other pre-
operation expenses. The business is expected to generate positive net earnings in the first
12 month of operations. In one year, there are eight production cycles are possible. At the
end of the six cycle, a net income of 7,500-15,000 can be realized. In other areas, good
quality organic fertilizer can be sold from 50/bag.

The pre−determined total capital of the project is ₱5,000 with 20% contribution from
Candia and 10% contribution from Bandayanon, Bete, Borra, Camili, De Jesus, Francisquete,
Linsag and Ongcoy. The start-up funds will be utilized to pay for the materials, supplies,
machinery and other expenses of the business.
