The book title Motivating Language Learners written by Gary N. Chambers pages 157. This
book explains about the attitudes brought to the classroom. Motivation influences learners attitude
in the classroom. Besides that home environment also influence learners motivation in language
learning. Furthermore, learners very own perception of the language learning also can influence
their self motivation to learn a language. Additionally, learners previous while post language
learning experiences also do impact learners motivation. If students motivation level increases
then students willingness to learn language will be better since they will make more effort to learn
the language. When learners have motivation then learners will learn language on their own.
When learners have motivation then they will bravely speak in the language. Learners motivation
also being influenced by the learning fun and activities done during the teaching and learning
session. Learners can also be motivated in language learning through project work and
coursework.Learners can also be motivated through language lifelong learning through ‘life-skills’
and task based learning. Learners also can be motivated through autonomous language learning
process. Fun activities also can motivate learners language learning.
Besides activities and tasks assessment and evaluation also can influence learners motivation in
language learning. Formative and Summative assessment also can motivate learners language
learning. As the learners become more motivated, they will take responsibility on their own to
learn about the language . They will practice all the four skills on their own . They need to be
facilitated by teachers and they become great language learners. Learners will also be motivated
if language classroom context is contributing motivation towards them. Another aspect, is the
teacher’s hats , this is when teachers will become facilitator and motivate learners as language
learners. Teachers also always need to provide feedback so that whenever learners got
motivational problems then feedbacks can be very helpful during their language learning.
Overall this book covers every aspect that influences learners motivation as language learners.

I can learn that classroom context is a factor in motivating language learners. I


also learn that teachers hat is also a factor in motivating language learners. I also
learn that feedbacks are also important in motivating language learners. I also
learn that learners attitude also influences motivation level as language learners.
Besides that home environment also strongly plays a part in motivating language
learners. I also learn that methods of teaching and learning also plays a role in
motivating language learners.
