ANALYSIS:
1. For you, what are the two greatest achievement of Rizal when he travels to Europe. Explain its
importance to the lives of the Filipino people under the Spanish regime.

After finishing his European tour, Rizal traveled to Hong Kong to practice ophthalmology. There,
he completed his primary purpose, which was to operate on his mother's eyes. And another thing is
that he published Noli Me Tángere which results to open the mind of the filipinos and serve his people
who had been oppressed by the spanish tyrants.

2. What is the importance of the Propaganda Movement? What are the accomplishment of this
movement? Was it successful? Explain your answer

The Filipino students studying in Europe at the time were the core of the Propaganda
Movement. By pen and speech, these students exposed the injustices of Spanish governance and
demanded freedom and equality for Filipinos.

They ended our country's tobacco monopoly. The 40 days of compulsory work were reduced
to 15 days every year. The tribute was abolished and replaced with the cedula tax. They were unable
to persuade the Spaniards to accept their measures. Some of their writings, particularly those by Jose
Rizal, were confiscated. Their funds were depleted. Some propagandists were assassinated, and Rizal
was executed.

Reforms were not achieved by the propaganda movement. The colonial authority refused to
meet any of its demands. Spain was dealing with a number of domestic issues at the time, which
could explain why the mother country ignored the Filipinos' pleas.

3. Was Rizal able to accomplish his secret mission in Europe? Justify your answer

Rizal's secret mission was to observe the lifestyles, cultures, laws, and governments of
European countries that goals to liberate the Philippines from Spain's tyrannical rule was a success for
him and for his people. Noli Me Tangere and his other works had an impact on Filipinos in a way that
it open their eyes and minds on how they were treated and made the Spaniards anger rise that led to
Rizal’s execution which eventually led to the independence of the Philippines.
