1. What is the role of empathy in the field of communication?


 Empathy helps us to communicate our ideas in a way that makes sense to others when
they communicate with us. Empathy is, at its simplest, awareness of the feelings and
emotions of other people, when it comes in communication it is a key element of
emotional intelligence, the link between self and others because it is how we as
individuals understand what other are experiencing as if we were feeling it ourselves.

2. How do you evaluate someone’s personality based on his/her communication skill?


 Based on my experienced on my friend usually I can say is that based on what kind of
tune of voice, facial expression and the way he/she talked like example she/he talk like
direct to the point and offensive, with Philosophy is applied, and serious face
expression. for instance, I can evaluate to that person personality is arrogant
 And I really based on how she/he deliver the message specially the feelings and emotion
were applied of her/his communication skills.

3. Define purposive communication using your own words.


 Purposive communication is our delay needs specially when it comes of communication
to someone it can be done by non-verbal or verbally. Communication, we used It
everyday to communicate people especially communicating to our family and dear
friends.
 Purposive communication helps us to able to communicate precisely and it can help us
to improve our knowledge and learning in life that we can use in daily lives.
4. What is a multimodal text? Discuss the impact of multimodal text in virtual learning
 What is a multimodal text? When we communicate, we use different processes or what
we called modes.
Example of mode are:
 Read
 Writing
 Listening
 Speaking
 Viewing

we use more than one mode a at time like example is we combine pictures and words in a picture book,
print text visual images and speech in a film the text we create are multimodal. They may be live, paper,
or digital.
5. How does the process of communication evolve?
 Communication has come a long way, first early humans during the Stone age started to
communicate and express their thoughts and feelings by signs or gestures.

art found on the wall and ceiling of caves.

6. If verbal communication defines reality, does that means that the non-verbal communication is
less important and does not define reality?
 In my opinion, both verbal and non-verbal communication has a big impact on every
individual. But it doesn’t mean that nonverbal is less important because some examples
of these are posture, sign language, facial expression, eye contact and so on. This
nonverbal communication can relay a message through physical in which people are
doing this especially when you encountered different people. I used there verbal and
nonverbal communication in my every day in life.

7. What are the implications of age, culture, gender and religion in intercultural communication?
 The Diversity of people and culture impacts communication. People interacting with
those from unfamiliar cultures may have difficulties in communication. When it comes
to age usually our generation nowadays are changing you can identify the age because
the way he/she communicate is different like example Millennials person using words
like (GG) “good game” this words is not familiar to the old ones.
 In culture you may identify what kind of language he/she used locally or globally
 Gender is very confusing because it may a male or female because now are in different
gender male , female, and LGBTQ+ but you can identify it because sometimes LGBTQ+
have their own words and way of communicating example is ( “baklang to” and etc.)
 Lastly the religion a person who are always sharing gospels, verse that easy to identify
that this person is a religious person.
8. What is a masculine culture?
In masculine cultures, hierarchies are based on competition, competence and productivity,
communication is usually direct and is used to solve problems and differences, or negotiate a
position or point of view. Strong individuals are given respect and expected to take the lead.

9. What are a Feminine Cultures


 In Feminine cultures, the focus is on compromise and cooperation. Communication is
less direct and more inclusive. In society there are incentives to act with empathy for to
others and sharing resources. Decision making is usually a collective process

10. Simple Message may be misunderstood depends on many factors. Below are some of the list
why simple message may be misunderstood:
 Choice of Words: It is important to use the correct words when communicating.
Example using Jargons to someone who is not familiar to the term.
 Current emotional state of the speaker or the receiver: Sometimes it’s the emotional
state of either the speaker or receiver affects the transfer of the information.
 Tone of voice: Simple messages may also be misunderstood due to our tone of voice.
Example: An important announcement of a manager in a condescending voice.
 Cultural differences and Language Barrier and beliefs Cultural differences and Language
Barrier may also be one of the reasons why simple message miss understood. there are
times words or terms used might not be acceptable to others culture.
