At this age, social media is a very important tool for our everyday life.

Instagram, TikTok,
WhatsApp, and even Facebook are essential for us. Some people work on Facebook like
promoting their business, doing live streaming and podcasts, studying by making group studies,
and positive activities like Transformers group for increasing our environmental awareness, and
so on. Facebook is also useful for socializing and making connections that might help us in the
future. In addition that in this pandemic as social beings we need to socialize with others, as we
know we cant meet people carelessly because of the virus. We know that in some countries users
are quitting using Facebook because of security issues like in Russia, China, and many other
countries. But still, in Indonesia, Facebook is a very important app to use, with more than 142.5

of the opposition team, this house rejects that Facebook has done more harm than good. The
keywords of this motion are business, study, and socializing.

Pandemic made a very huge opportunity for all nano/small influencers to promote their products
or services easily with a small even 0 money, just need an internet connection and you can get
profit easily. This makes things more easily because Facebook made a feature called Facebook
Marketplace. There we can find products according to our seller’s nearest location with the
product that we want plus a messenger feature that can send direct messages to them. With that,
we also can arrange the payment and appointment with them. This feature is totally free and easy
to use, so everyone can use it. It also can help the local seller and support the local economy.
This also encourages people to use a local product that’s obviously cheaper and not to buy
imported products. By buying from the nearest seller in your area, communicating will be easier
in case the product is damaged or any miscommunication happened during the ordering process.
As many people feared that there are a lot of online scams using Facebook Marketplace. This
case is avoidable because online scams happen because of our negligence of not observing the
product details and the price. The more detailed the product, the less chance it will be an online
scam.

Second, many Facebook groups are used for studying or studying groups. This group varied from
the common school subject like math, science, and language, to studying plantings, human
behavior, how to make a great business for beginners, and many more. We can also find people
that shared the same hobbies as ours from Facebook groups. In these groups, not only we can
study and learn more from the experts, but we can also share our knowledge with other
beginners. The posts inside respective groups are tidy because there is an admin or more that
manages the group and sets the rules. The group member must follow these rules so they can
respect each other and not make unnecessary conflict. The group members that encounter a
sensitive post can report them to the admin too. It also can be used as a religious medium to
spread positivity and religious knowledge.
Third, we can agree that Facebook was made as a socializing app, to be friends with a lot of
people from around the world. Many features are useful for socializing like the “with friends”
feature. With this feature, we can post a moment or two and our other friends at that moment
automatically will be added to that other friend’s profile page so more people can see and even
interact with us. Another useful feature is messenger which can send word/voice/video messages.
Not only send messages, we also can call other people or even make a video call forum so we
can interact with more people in one call. A very great way to know a lot of people with these
features. The problem with the data leaks that happened to millions of users can be prevented if
we do not share our private data on Facebook. For example phone numbers, identifying cardsy6,
and credit card numbers. Socializing is great, but social media is a platform where many people
go undetected and anonymously freely there so a lot of suspicious people will target us if we
share too much private data. Again this happened because of our negligence, of how we
underestimated the internet itself. So as long as we stay careful, none of the bad things will
happen to us on Facebook. Facebook is a great app that can be used depending on our needs. If
we want to work, promote products and services, study, do our hobbies, and even share our
moments with other people, we can use Facebook. It will be a shame if we don’t use Facebook
just because we are afraid of the consequences, and it can be prevented if we are careful and stay
