SHORT BIO.
I finished my studies in animation drawing in June 2020 and I am
passionate about filmmaking.

For my bachelor's degree, I made a 4min short film, in stop-


motion, integrating all the production phases of a film, from script
writing, to the setting up of a production file, the artistic direction
of the project, the direction and the post-production.
I came to live in Switzerland in 2009 where I finished my
compulsory schooling and successfully completed an
apprenticeship as a wine maker, which allowed me to work in the
canton of Vaud as a wine maker and cellar master.
I have always wanted to train in the artistic professions and in
2017 I decided to do a preparatory year to access the training in
animation drawing at the Ceruleum.

During these years I opened a small tattoo parlour which allowed


me to finance my schooling, to widen my practice of drawing and
which is still active today after my studies.

SHORT FILMS

La Belle Finestra

The short film La Bella Finestra which was my


graduation film.

The project was originally conceived for live action.


We had written it with three other people for the
Reflex festival. The project was close to my heart, and
after a year or so I decided to put it back together for
animation, it has been transformed since then, but it
has kept the same impulse from the beginning.
I wanted to propose a vision of the struggle that can
exist in our minds when we are confronted with our
technical or physical inability to achieve the things we
imagine.

A person locked in a confined space and the hope of


freedom. A person faced with the loneliness of their
existence materializes a part of their mind into an
imaginary character that is there to help, distract and
confront them with their choices.

HomED
HomEd was made halfway through our second
year of study.

This year is split in two, during each semester we


have to make a short film as a group. This short film
was made in the first semester.
During the winter, a hunter tracks a lone bear in an
abandoned village.

This film was the first step in making a film, all the
elements and the creative thinking around a film
had to be taken care of by a team of three
students.

STORYBOARDING

When I take the creation of a storyboard into my


hands, I think mainly in terms of speaking and
efficient sketches that will allow me to quickly build
my animatic.

In the following examples of storyboards, the


emphasis has been put on framing and movement
so that the rest of the work, i.e. a paper cut-out
animation recounting the different stages,
anecdotes or even difficulties that can occur in the
making of a short film alone, is as clear as possible
or the moment of cutting the paper and the
anticipation of the movement of the joints...

SCENARIO
SCENE 01 INT CAVE
SCENE 03 EXT FOREST
Shocks and noises can be heard echoing in the corners of the cave.
Emile walks effortlessly through the branches and bushes. The sun is peeking through the trees and evening
It is a comfortable cave where everything is in its place. Wreckage of vehicles of all kinds, bicycles, cars, is near. Emile climbs the gentle slope of a hill, the trees are getting sparser, the bushes less and less dense.

EMILE (marmonne)

Were you there from the beginning? After a few minutes of this ride Emile stops, disturbed by shouts and footsteps in the forest at the foot of the
hill. Curious and anxious not to be seen, he slips into the bushes in the direction of the noises.

Emile opens his eyes, looks at the book on the table, sits down and takes the book quickly and flips back a few

puts his glass down on the table and grabs a shoulder bag from a car mirror stuck in the wall at the back.

Sketch

This is the final part which summarizes my


daily sketches, observation, terraces, a few drinks,
ideas that make my work progress.

I take very much to heart this routine of quick drawing


which since the beginning of my journey in animation
feeds my desires, which little by little reassures me in
my technique.

Comic books

I've always wanted to make comics and


now I've found a way to link this work to the
rest of my activities.

I use it mainly as a premise for a script and


storyboard for my future creations, the
following examples are the first boards of a
new story that will exist as a graphic novel
before I start making a film.
