I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of this lesson, the learners will be able to:

● Describe the types and forms of animation along with its contribution to the art of film
making in the Philippines.
● Create an output through traditional animation.
● Understand the effort poured by the Filipino animators to their works through creating
an output.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic: Animation (Media-based art and Design in the Philippines)


Reference: Horizon Music and Arts Appreciation for Young Filipinos LM, page 278-280
Materials: Projector, Laptop, Printed Materials, Chalk, Speaker
Value Integration: Appreciate the effort of the Filipino Animators.
Subject Integration: Math, Science, Filipino, AP.
Time Allotted: 1 Hour.
Date: March 28, 2023.

ACTIVITY 2 :”WHAT'S MY MOVIE?”

For your next activity, you will identify the


name of the character in the movie titles. Answer:

I guess you know what will be our topic for

The Filipinos are involved in the creation of
these sample animations.

countries when it comes to
animation-making.

B. ANALYSIS

Using the word web on the board, think of


any words that are related to Animation.

Animation is a method of photographing


successive drawings, models, or even
puppets, to create an illusion of movement
in a sequence.

What do you think is the difference between


picture one, two and three?

Ma’am it is drawn by the use of pen and


paper.

The second picture is flat and does not have


form.

Ma’am the third picture is more realistic. It


also has form.

Animation.

1. Traditional animation usually


refers to animation hand-drawn on
paper.

2. 2D animation is a motion that takes


place within a flat, two-dimensional
space. The Animator draws many
unique picture using a digital
device to create an Animation.

3. 3D animation adds the concept of


depth. It has form and uses a digital
device to create 3D animation. 3D
is more realistic than 2D.

FINAL ACTIVITY: “DRAW A MOTION”

For your next activity, this is a group


activity. Draw any simple objects that show
a movement or motion to experience the
traditional animation-making method. You
can draw a walking stick man, bouncing
ball, growing plants, waving emoji, sunset,
and sunrise.
