Performance Task 1.

1 Promoting the Philippine Regions

Our Group chose Leyte, a province in the Philippines located in the Eastern Visayas region, to
promote their culture and arts.

Filipino Contemporary Artist that inspired our Group in doing the artwork:

Dino Dante K. Pajao was born in Maasin City, Southern Leyte,

Philippines. He is an architect by profession, lived, and worked in
Singapore’s landscape architecture design firm. He is a
renowned watercolorist who shows mastery in realism, portraits,
figures, still life, landscape, and seascapes. He started painting in
high school and won a grand prize in the 13th Dona Modesta
Gaisano Singson Painting contest - student category in 2003. He
is an active member of the Singapore Watercolour Society (SWS)
and participated in its annual painting exhibitions from 2009 to
the present and a committee member of the SWS Year 2015 to
the current year. He is also a member of the International
Watercolour Society (IWS) in Singapore and the Philippines. Mr.
Dino Dante K. Pajao inspired our group because of his work and
how he mixed color into his painting. He came up with Primatek - unique colors to be applied to his artwork
to make it more sophisticated, just like on our artwork; we used unique colors. We were also in awe when
he quoted, “Watercolors stand out for their strong and high-granulating colors. It also offers the widest
range of premixes that gives me flexibility when working with different art forms.`` Even by using watercolor,
he can perform at his best and give us something beautiful to admire.
