5. Marine fuels, emissions and emission control. Power 12
distribution/ transmission and reduction gears.
Bearing selection and lubrication
6. Engine-propeller matching, 13-14
Propeller excitation, added mass, and damping. Vibration
modeling, analysis and evaluations of shafting systems:
torsional, longitudinal and lateral vibrations
7. Introduction to dynamic system simulation using Matlab and 15-16
Simulink. Basic control theory Integrated treatment of the
statics and dynamics of marine power transmission systems.
Shafting design and alignment.
