ACTIVITY 5

After watching the video, I've learned something and I was about to realized within myself regarding
on how would procrastination affects me if I'll keep on practicing this kind of habit. I can't deny the fact that I
am also a procrastinator person, for being a Filipino who is known of making procrastination as a habit.
Sometimes, when I'm doing my tasks and I feel exhausted, I tried to rest in the way of watching videos on
tiktok, the common thing that I've always done that leads me in dawdling my unfinished and unstarted tasks.
But despite in doing this kind of habit, I can be able to manage my time and was able to pass my tasks and
activities on time, even though sometimes I was on loaded with all of the tasks due to the fact that
procrastination is the reason behind. We sometimes experience certain hindering factors, such as exhaustion or
outcomes that are far in the future, which interfere with our self-control and motivation.

It has been stated in the video about Self-Worth Theory which asserts that the paramount psychological
need that all of us have, is seen by ourselves and others as capable, competent and able. Our worth derives from
our human qualities of kindness, thoughtfulness and our vulnerability. It does mean that our worth is not just on
our ability. Don't consider your self as worthless when you fail in something, because if you really wanted to
achieve, say, for success, then you would not automatically really want to avoid failure. According to the
person talking in the video, procrastination is not shameful, it's not a flaw nor a sign of weakness. In my own
perspective, practicing the said habit can be sometimes a choice of oneself. We are the leader of our self whose
controlling our thoughts and actions to take. Sometimes, we will take something as a reason to avoid doing the
specific thing. Like for example, it does not mean that when you get tired, you will sleep for a whole day or
play for a long time, to be part of your relaxation. And this does not mean also that we are weak, that we are
defeated by or wasting our time on something, instead of investing it in more meaningful. There are times that
we are driven towards success, but we are strongly and powerfully motivated to avoid failure on the other
hand.

There are several strategies for overcoming the thing called procrastination. The first thing to consider
is to develop awareness. We need to have an understanding of the reasons why we procrastinate and the
function of procrastination serves in our life. The more we know, the greater awareness we have of our
tendencies and our motivations, we're more likely to overcome it. We can't come up with an effective solution
if we don't really understand the root of the problem. Another thing is to tip the balance, or in other words is to
have a time management. As humans, of course, we feel exhausted or getting bored in everything we do. We
will set and spend time for rest, or in a form of watching videos or play for the time alloted, and then work for
the tasks again. But there are instances, that in overcoming procrastination through time management is not
enough by itself, for the reason that not all methods of managing time are equally helpful in dealing with
procrastination, thus, others can even make it worse. Lastly, is setting goals. Focus on what you want to do, not
what you wat to avoid. Think about the productive reasons for doing a ask by setting positive, concrete,
meaningful learning and achievement goals for yourself. One of the purpose for our self is to achieve our main
goals, right? It's either a student whose main goal is to finish the studies, or an employee who wants to finish
the office works. Before ending this, let me leave a qoute that I had even remember from my elementary days.
"NEVER PUT OFF FOR TOMORROW, WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR TODAY."
