A farmer went to the market wishing to buy a donkey. He walked


around and saw a new merchant selling donkeys. He talked to him and
was allowed to take one back to his farm to see what it was like. He
could pay the money the next day if he was satisfied with the donkey.
When the farmer returned to his farm, he led the donkey to the
other donkeys. The newcomer looked at the three donkeys there. One
was working in the field and the other was breathing heavily while
pulling a cart. The last one was not working at all. lts cart had toppled
over and it was resting under a tree. The new one walked up to the
laziest and lay down by its side.
